I had a very disappointing experience at Ibis Nashik, particularly with the receptionist on 31 July 2026. When I initially asked whether any discount was possible, I mentioned that the nearby Ginger hotel was offering a bigger room and, in my opinion, better ambience. The receptionist immediately claimed that the rooms at Ibis were bigger, which was clearly not the case from what we saw. The bathroom was also extremely small. He first told us that he could offer around a 5% discount and that anything more would only be possible through the Mahindra Friends & Family discount. We told him that we could arrange this through a friend. However, no clear information was provided about how much discount we would actually receive or what the final price would be. He simply told us that the details would come through email. After a long discussion with our friend, we completed the process exactly as requested and had the required email sent from the company email address. We were then made to wait for around 20 minutes. After all of this, the receptionist suddenly informed us that booking through the Friends & Family discount would actually make the room significantly more expensive. According to him, the normal price was approximately ₹7,000 for two nights, whereas with the Friends & Family rate it would be around ₹10,000 without breakfast, with breakfast costing extra. This made absolutely no sense to us. When we asked him to show us how the discount was being calculated, he refused to clearly disclose the base price and said that the pricing/percentage information was confidential. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily complicated, evasive and lacking in transparency. The breakfast experience was also disappointing. I want to specifically mention that the servers were very polite, helpful and responsive, so the issue was not with the service staff. The problem was the food quality and taste. The breakfast had very little taste overall, and even something as basic as the tea tasted poor. For a hotel trying to position itself as a more premium or expensive option, the basic food quality was simply not up to the mark. My overall impression was that the hotel was trying to portray a more premium experience, but it lacked basic quality in food and transparency on the administrative and pricing side. Based on my experience, nearby options such as Citadel and Ginger may be worth considering instead, especially if you value better room value, food quality and a more straightforward booking experience. The biggest issue for me was not simply the price or discount. It was the lack of clear communication and transparency. If the Friends & Family rate was going to be more expensive than the regular rate, that should have been explained before making us go through the entire process and involve another person.
