The villas in particular are fantastic. They are so self-contained, we never needed anything from the main hotel except breakfast, and it was glorious to step right out onto the beach. The rainy season turned out to have no rain, and it just meant that all of Kamala was peaceful and uncrowded. The ongoing work was not a problem at all - the workmen were discrete. And the free afternoon snacks you laid on were very appreciated when we were around one day. Would have been even more perfect if they had been mentioned at checkin, when we were peckish after travel. Thank you so much for a perfectly relaxing stay.

The check-in and check-out experiences were satisfactory, and the quality of the restaurants was also at a reasonable level. I stayed in an Ocean View Room, Room 109. However, I found that there were no signs or directions indicating where Room 109 was located. I had to ask a staff member for assistance and directions the first time. However, I would like to be honest that I was not particularly impressed with the room for the following reasons: Excessive moisture on the floor The room floor was very damp throughout my stay. It constantly felt as though the floor had not completely dried, which was quite uncomfortable. Unable to open the balcony door I specifically booked an Ocean View Room, but I was unable to open the balcony door. From the condition of the door handle, it appeared that the door had been pulled or forced quite strongly over time. I believe I may not be the only guest who has experienced this issue. Shower glass was poorly maintained The shower experience was not satisfactory. The glass partition had significant, stubborn water stains and appeared as though it had not been properly cleaned or maintained for some time. Air conditioning was not sufficiently cool When I went to bed, I found that the air conditioning was not cool enough, even though I set the fan to the highest level and the temperature to between 18–20°C. I also tried adjusting the temperature to several different settings, but there was hardly any noticeable difference. As a result, I had to sleep without a blanket throughout the night. All pillows were too firm The room provided four plus one pillows, but unfortunately, all of them appeared to be the same type and were very firm. I was unable to use them comfortably, so I had to use a towel as a substitute for a pillow. Loose bedside switch I noticed that the bedside switch appeared to be loose and almost detached. This was clearly not caused by me, and I was concerned that the hotel might mistakenly assume that I had damaged it during my stay. Therefore, I did not touch it again. The switch appeared as though it could come off at any time. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my experience at this Novotel property. In my opinion, the condition of the room did not meet the standard I would expect from the Accor Novotel brand. I would like to mention that I have previously been part of the design team for other Novotel hotel projects, so I have a good understanding of the standards and expectations associated with the brand. For this reason, I was particularly surprised and disappointed by my experience during this stay. I sincerely hope the hotel will take this feedback seriously and improve the room conditions, maintenance, and overall guest experience in the future, so that the property can better reflect the quality and standards expected of the Novotel brand.
