It is a fairly nice place to stay. We were staying for some training. Our whole party (several rooms) were called out of a training meeting and told we needed to check out of our hotel. We were scheduled for one more night. It sent us scrambling to find another place at the last minute. We had made reservations months in advance. Not good!!!

Dear Elder & Sister A., Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. There was a misunderstanding over your booking. The booking that we received and confirmed back to your travel arranger was for 2 nights only (Monday 25th November & Tuesday 26th November). Your group arrived on Sunday 24th and we were able to accommodate you all. However, we were unaware that you were thinking that you were booked for the night of 27th November. Unfortunately, we were already fully booked for that night and despite our best efforts, we were unable to extend the bookings for that additional night. I can promise you that as a hotelier, we do not like to turn away bookings. I personally met your group members and well remember discussing the hotel Nativity display with you. My wife and I had brought this set with us from New Zealand. Again I apologise that were unable to extend the bookings but unfortunately, it was beyond our control. We trust that you did enjoy the remainder of your visit to the beautiful country of Fiji. Sincerely Tim Dearsley General Manager

Rooms need to be kept clean. Bathrooms were very dirty. Towels n sheets smelled like moulds. Some staff were quiet rude when we got in. Whole experience was unpleasant. So checked out early.

We obviously totally failed to impress you and this is extremely disappointing as we do get many very favourable comments from our guests. We have most certainly taken your comments extremely seriously and our Housekeepers have been told that they will have to make a big improvement with the room cleaning. Likewise, I have spoken with all reception staff to remind them of the importance of being friendly when greeting guests. This is something that we do get lots of positive comments from our guests about so your experience is really disappointing. Once again, I do apologise. We appreciate your sharing your concerns and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to show you in the future that we are capable of providing a good guest experience. The room was not clean, bathroom faucet was leaking. Noisy and disturbing

Unfortunately your Hotel lacks some much needed investment. Your staff are lovely. I have been staying there for eight years and have noticed how down hill the facilities have become. I took some photos but unfortunately i somehow deleted them. There was a leak coming from upstairs in the entrance way and the mold on the dividing door between the bathroom and entrance was disgusting.There is not many loungers by the pool and even less padding for the loungers. Some serious money needs to be spent on this place.

I personally checked the room and have immediately arranged to have the maintenance done to correct the faults. I agree that the pool loungers are not plentiful enough. I have just submitted an improvement to the hotel owners on that very topic and we will be rectifying this in the new year. Meanwhile, I would very much like to meet up with you when you next come to Suva. I can assure you of my best efforts to improve the hotel and I will do my utmost to ensure that we do provide you with a guest experience that you will remember for the right reasons. Bad exsperiance last two stays,1st room was not clearn on arrivial 12.30 pm,recent vist aircon leeked water huge pool of water was wet and unacceptable. Food offer only fair and not value for Money. overall staff no issue always willing to assist

I like the Novotel Lami Bay - it's a good location by the bay and the staff are friendly. However I think the hotel needs to address the following issues: The room I was allocated (314 from memory) was tired and needs a complete facelift - the furniture was dirty. I would specifically asked not to allocated this room in future. The staff need to be mindful of guests during the night and particularly early morning - there is a lot of noise e.g. digging ice from the machine at 5.30am The menu could do with an upgrade - it hasn't changed for a long time. Keep it simple but with lots of fresh vegetables and fresh fish simply prepared.

It is always good to receive compliments but also really important to hear about the areas where we need to improve. I was pleased to see that you like the hotel and that the staff are friendly. The room type that you stayed in is our lead in one which is a Superior Garden view room. I would recommend that you book one of our Deluxe rooms with 1 Queen bed and with sea views. They are better than the lead in rooms and will also be on the other side of the lobby so you will be well away from the additional ice machine or other early morning noises. I would like to be able to tell you that we are going to refurbish the hotel. However, we have submitted plans to our owners so at this stage we have to make the best of what we do have. I am happy to advise that we are right now in the process of finalising a new menu and this will feature more local dishes. I firmly believe that this will make a difference! Thanks again for your very thoughtful comments and I can assure you that we really do want to provide a good guest experience. My room was so comfortable,clean and plenty of space as well as well stocked with tea, coffee,and TV ,electric kettle, icebox, well lighted and clear information from the brochures. I slept so well. I also enjoyed using the facilities in the GYM .It helped to keep fit and i also liked the gift shop it was stocked with all that a customer would need such as toothpaste,tooth brush, snacks shavine gears etc...and most of all the friendly, welcoming and helping staff was excellent with special fijian Bula smiles. (cannot wait to come back to Fiji and stay at the one and only one "The Novotel")

THe thign that sets Novotel Lami Bay apart is the staff. The facilities may be a bit tired and not as flash as other novotels but the staff are so fridenyl and helpful and the food is very nice. Consistent every time.
