The stay is as expected, it is what you expect from a Mercure. The location of the gym and the facilities are also a bit weird: 1. From the 2nd floor it directs you to go down the stairs, go through the pool and back up the stairs. While it is easier to go through the restaurant. 2. There were no towels prepared in the gym so had to bring from the room Minor incident: at the counter at first i was asked to pay the full price, where the receptionists only later realized that i was using my points for discount. She voided the earlier transaction and charged me with the discounted room charges.

I visited Pontianak for business, and it was my first time there. Staying at this hotel was the perfect choice for a first-time visitor; the staff were friendly and helpful with culinary recommendations in the city. This hotel is conveniently located near UNTAN, a shopping mall, and a small botanical garden called a "jungle'. Their breakfast selection is the most varied and extensive that I've had in Indonesia -- 5 types of juices, more than 3 types of Indonesian soups, fruits, rujak, both Indonesian ad Western buffet, breads, sweets, puddings, and sometimes Japanese dishes. Unfortunately, the non-smoking rooms are limited, and some are on the same floor with smoking rooms.

When walking in the hallway approaching the room. Smell of ciggarette you can smell a subtle hint of ciggarette. When entering the room, the smell worsen. Not what i expect of a non smoking room in this type of hotel.
