Staff wonderfully courteous couldn’t be more helpful We upgraded our room only to find our original room was a better standard and within the main hotel the bathrooms in the upgraded room had we stayed there would have to have been re-cleaned so we moved back to the original room Just felt the hotel it’s self was a bit tired there was also a problem with the electronic keys But overall would still recommend

The hotel was good and the room very nice, but the customer service was terrible. There was a wedding on and because some had stayed overnight those who were not in there wedding party were pushed to a corner, like second class citizens. When we came to check out there was no one there - the one person had been called away and it seems strange that at their busiest time they have limited staff. I received my bill by email and was overcharged - I replied to the email and challenged it - I am still waiting (a week later) for a reply - obviously encouraging customers to return is not in their strategy. Fortunately, I was passing by later on and had to go in and sort it out.

We had such fantastic and attentive service in the bar and restaurant. Thank you to the team working whilst we visited we had a great stay and really appreciated all the extra special touches offered.

The Hotel and Staff were great however I was Not impressed with some of the food but other than that I really enjoyed my stay.

the staff is always super accommodating, the location is good for train and bus. breakfast is good quality

I booked a superior room for a 1 night stay for a wedding. The outside of the hotel as you arrive is nothing to look at. Could do with a re vamp. We were disappointed with our room as we paid a lot of money and was not much different to a Premier Inn. We had a mini fridge with complimentary Pepsi but couldn't open the bottles due to no bottle opener.

Great location, lovely room facing garden to the rear. Very dusty glass light stem light fitting to LHS of bed, partially blocked sink, not running away instantly. Unfortunately, no beers on tap, just bottled on offer. Meal and breakfast good, overall stay enjoyable.

We were there for a workshop. Heavy refurbishment was being undertaken in the floor above. The noise was disruptive. We had to ask to move to another room. Our request was accommodated. However the new room was very large and cold. Although we had preordered all our food for the evening meal we had to wait almost an hour for our starter and an hour for our main course. This is unacceptable. All in all not a good experience for a workshop venue.

Staff were very helpful and gave me a very good room. Well kept and efficient. Will be my first choice for future visits

As 3 stayg in room only 2 mugs. Emailed earlier vegan coming but not much selection as as i am vegetarian no vegi sausages. Need new toaster. When fire alarm woke us would have been nice to have apology instead hearg staff member say it was shower but dont tell them that. We were on weddg trip

Hotel in good position to venture out. Clean and comfortable room. A little tired in places but did not affect my stay in the hotel. I was only there for a stop over so cannot comment on the facilities. The staff were very polite and friendly. The room was booked through the company I work for which mentioned on its site that breakfast was included in the rate so I went to the restaurant area for breakfast where I was taken to a table, no menu provided and I could not see any cost of breakfast mentioned so although my company booking note did not actually state breakfast included I assumed it was. A self service buffet was laid out with cereals fruit and hot food etc. I only had a few chunks of melon a bowl of cereal and cup of tea. When I checked out I was charged £15.50 for breakfast so I queried the charge but was politely advised the rate paid did not include breakfast. The reason I mention all this is that the room was £130 + £15.50 breakfast so I do not think it is value for money for this hotel.

This was a complimentary stay offered to us by friends but we had stayed previously on the 29th July 2019 after our son's wedding (H./Scalco families). The hotel is great but a little run down in some places. For us the pillows were too hard so difficult to get the correct height. There is also a constant humming noise which made it a little trickly to sleep. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

We were both treated like Royalty it was amazing. My girlfriend and I absolutely enjoyed our hotel stay from the amazing service as we walk, the dinner having complimentary drinks to the breakfast we had in bed which was presented perfectly. The taste of the dinner and breakfast was out of this world.

Nice enough room and some beautiful restaurant / bar areas, but a few things could be improved. - check in was very smooth and efficient - baby cot was good quality until many places - bar service was good and bar itself was very nice - dinner menu was average (like a generic pub menu despite the fancier surroundings and a more fitting menu being available online - Emlyn I think) - wedding party went on very late and the bass was pounding until gone midnight. We should have been warned about this in advance, if not at booking then at least at check in and I would have appreciated an acknowledgment of the disruption the next day - cobwebs in the room (which was otherwise of a good standard and very comfortable) - fire alarm went off at 2am for no apparent reason. Again, I would have expected an acknowledgement or explanation the next day - breakfast service was mixed. It was busy with the wedding party but we still expected our plates to be cleared. Coffee could be improved. - it’s great that the hotel is dog friendly, but it would be even better if a doormat was provided for the terrace / garden exits to make controlling muddy footprints easier! The bombardment of emails almost daily beforehand about various upgrades / additional services I could pay for was very tedious and put me off before arrival. Once or twice would be plenty.

Comfy room, nice bed, lovely view of garden. There were a few things in the room that needed fixing, and we were woken at 2.15 am by the fire alarm, which turned out to be a false alarm. Whilst realising hotel needs to be safe etc there was no information and no staff came around, another guest who’d got right downstairs said it was false alarm but it would have been better if a member of staff had come around the corridors to let everyone know. Otherwise staff were lovely, helpful, quick check in and out, delicious breakfast , not hurried , lots of attractive and relaxing seating in the lounges. Great position by Box Hill. Overall good experience and would stay again.
