Room was comfortable, was not offered choice of room or any potential room upgrades. Room is date and a little tatty. Draws hanging out of the table and not fitting back in properly. Room looked like was only made for 1 person other towels on top of wardrobe area. Only 3 pillows in room

The hotel was not what I expected from a Mercure hotel. It was old and worn. It wasn´t clean. Several places in my room had a thick layer of dust. The pillows were so hard that I had trouble sleeping and I woke up with a neck pains. I will stay at the hotel again unless there isnt another option available.

Room very cold and service inadequate

My room was located on the ground floor and had wind seeping through the windows. I requested to have extra blankets, but even though I stayed for 2 nights, did not have them in the end. I was given an extra heater, but the room was still cold. No one should go through such an experience when you are paying for more than 100 pounds per night. This is my second stay at Mercure (the first in March this year), but I do not think I will visit again.

During my stay, my towels were not replenished in my room and thankfully I checked before I had to get ready for the day. I also needed a sewing kit as a button on my jacket fell off, however you no longer carry them.

It was a satisfactory stay for a work visit in nearby Sunbury. The rooms are a bit dated and could do with a refresh but they are comfortable and quiet enough to get a good night sleep.

I wasn't there very long, just one night but overall, things were fine. The hotel looks a little tired but the bed was incredibly comfortable. I didn't really appreciate a member of staff making a disparaging remark about a well-known actor at breakfast. It was supposed to be a joke but it was very rude. However, I also do not want to get the member of staff into trouble so please do not raise this as an issue.

Room 29. We paid for a room upgrade from basic to river view. The room we were accommodated in was far from satisfactory.

The upgraded room had no bedside table and bedside light on one side. My wife used her suitcase in lieu of the table and a light? Well! The sink in the bathroom had no plug and the shaving socket was faulty. If you didn't hold the plug in the socket it didn't make a connection. I would welcome an explanation why we accommodated in this room after paying for an upgrade. I am just glad we were not accommodated in one of your basic rooms. People who asked me "How was the visit to Staines?" were informed in no uncertain terms of our experience. Will not be recommending your hotel, indeed we will advise them to be careful if they wish to reserve a Mecure hotel. Extremely dissatisfied and will look at Mecure hotels in a different light now.

One night stay

We needed somewhere near Egham for a one night stay after a wedding and reception. The room was clean, and although facing the main road, was quiet. Breakfast was fine, the usual array of cereals and cooked breakfast. One downside was a lack of car spaces when we returned late in the evening, and had to park in a nearby public car park, with some concern for potential vandalism, although everything was fine when we checked the next morning. I would consider using the Staines Mercure hotel again.
