Lifts broken, an hour at checkin, tiny underground carpark broken ventilation humming all night outside room window. totally impossible to sleep. when staff not run off their feet moving tables for events down stairs they were polite. Doing this at the same time as check in rush was unhelpful. location close to city centre

So, so disappointly poor. Feeling nothing but stressed out when it was supposed to be a relaxing 2 nights away. 1. When we arrived, deluxe suite room had been downgraded and we weren't told. 2. Overcharged for the downgrade. Had to trail down to reception again from 15th floor. See next point. 3. Only 1 lift out of 4 working (apparently was the same at Christmas) took absolutely ages and sharing with house keeping trolloes etc. So leave an extra 15 minutes!! 4. Car park, if you pay for 2 nights parking, then take your car out for the day, no guarantee you'll have a space on return. It'll be full when you get back. 5. Cards only programmed for 1 night and not 2, had to trail down again in the 1 lift to sort it. 6. Plug in the bath doesn't hold water. Shame...it was a lovely bath that we couldnt relax in. 7. The Kettle doesnt switch off itself. 8. Signal on TV comes and goes. 9. No padlocks for the lockers for guests in the spa. Had to take all clothing, watches, rings , phones and cash to the poolside. LImited space to get changed. No privacy if you want the choice. Ps: No we wont be stayimg again.

Part of the Mercure chain, this seems to have been neglected. Stayed twice over a two week period. Only one lift in four was working, and you couldn’t exit the stairs at the ground floor - having to go round the outside of the building to get to reception. So it often took 5 minutes or more to get from our room to reception! Beds weren’t properly made, the breakfast chef wasn’t very good at poaching an egg, and the rest of the breakfast was pretty grim and outrageously priced. TVs in both rooms we used barely worked (one looked like a relic from twenty years ago). It’s the kind of hotel where you don’t want to walk on the floor in bare feet. Nice pool on the ground floor but changing rooms were in poor state with no shampoo in the showers. Staff were nice…basically avoid if you can.

Very enjoyable stay. Deema in the restaurant was lovely. The reception staff were also exceptional. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was my first stay and I will stay again when next in the area on business.

A treat for my daughter and myself. Friendly staff on reception. Room ok TV didn't work properly. Spa and staff absolutely amazing. But please do not waste your money on the afternoon tea it was very poor.
