Me and my friends really enjoyed our experience in mercure spa and will visit again. Was welcomed by a heart warming smile from their worker Simona she was very helpful. We all really loved the jacuzzi the temperature was just right so relaxing. Do recommend for anyone who would love to relax for the day!!

I've really enjoyed my day at Mercure spa it's been incredible and relaxing, they were all very welcoming and kind. Their cleaner simona was very helpful and made sure the changing rooms were always clean and tidy. Will go again. Do recommend

I recently visited the Mercure Holland House Hotel & Spa in Cardiff for what I had hoped would be a relaxing spa day, but unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. My partner and I paid over £350 for a spa package, which included an upgraded 50-minute treatment for an extra £20 per person. From the start, there were several issues: The afternoon tea served to my partner was not vegan, despite this being specified in advance. If I hadn’t queried this, my partner would have consumed non-vegan food, which could have made him seriously unwell. This oversight was unacceptable, and it made us question the professionalism of the staff. We did speak to someone about this, and they corrected the order, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. I was looking forward to my 50-minute massage, but the experience was disappointing. The therapist was unwell and spent much of the time chatting during the session, which affected my ability to relax and enjoy the treatment. After I raised this concern with the staff, they did switch therapists for my second treatment. However, this doesn’t change the fact that my first 50-minute treatment was poor and unsatisfactory. After our treatments, we went to the reception to discuss our concerns further, but there was no one available at 5:30 PM, which left us feeling dissatisfied and unable to address the issues in full at the time. Despite raising these concerns with the venue, the response we received was inadequate. We were offered complimentary guest passes, which does not reflect the overall cost of the package or the distress caused by the lack of care and quality throughout our visit. It’s a real shame because we’ve stayed at Mercure hotels in the past and always had good experiences, but this visit has completely put us off the chain altogether. We expected much higher standards, especially from a well-known hotel and spa chain. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this spa to others and will be looking elsewhere for future bookings.

The entrance and welcome was lovely. The room was clean and tidy. However the bed wasn't nice at all. One side was comfortable but the other was like a bowl and uncomfortable. The air-conditioning couldn't be adjusted so turned it off. There were two oil fired radiators in the room so would suggest it gets cold due to the malfunctioning air-conditioning. The bar was supposed to be open til 23.00hrs but closed at 22.30hrs. They said that if you want breakfast in you room then leave the completed leaflet on your door handle outside the room and they will collect. This didn't happen. We had based our timings on the breakfast so we had a rushed breakfast in the restaurant. It was very bland and the sausages tasted of cardboard. The distance to the center was good walking distance just such a shame they didn't deliver on the other issues. They charge you for the breakfast in your room which they lost!!! Shame we didn't enjoy the stay and we will not return. We visit Cardiff regularly and thought to try a different hotel due to our plans on the Sunday.
