An excellent hotel. The sky bar and restaurant have a Vegas style and view over Vienna. Service is excellent. The rooms have everything you need and are 100% clean. Bed ae very comfortable and the curtains provide complete black out. Located right in the center it is a great choice.

Breakfast - what should I say; 10min waiting to be seated, 30min waiting for coffee, service is just incredible slow and lowest level. Then even the beautiful view does not matter anymore. Ok, they are obviously all very young and in training but at least give the impression that you already woke up this morning and be ready for work.

I stayed here about 6 years ago when it was Sofitel and years before that I would frequent it as a local (going to Das Loft). Overall the design is the same. I came back because my husband and I had such a great experience when we stayed last time. This time I brought my mother. While the building looked exactly the same, and the rooms did as well - it was very clear that they needed maintenance. 3 lights in our ceiling were burnt out, it was very dark in the evenings, towels were older, the quality of the toiletries had declined (used to be Hermes), the window shutters were rusty and more difficult to close, the 3rd slider for our shower partition was detached and wouldn’t close completely making the room fog up and reduced privacy. There was no evening turn down service. Housekeeping missed cleaning our rooms one of the days, and when I inquired with concierge rather than them being solutions oriented, I was asked if I was sure I had pressed the green button to indicate that I needed cleaning. She sent someone up while we were away, and when we got home saw that this person just made our bed. No new towels. No toilet paper or hand tissue and hadn’t replaced our glassware or restocked coffee or mini bar. It was the kind gentleman from front desk who personally brought everything up for us once I called him (this was a new person on night shift). Overall, at a first glance the room was great. But massive decline in quality. Inconsistency with customer service at front desk team. Breakfast quality was not the same at all as previous but service was better upstairs. I was honestly disappointed because I chose this hotel based on my past experiences. I am a Bonvoy Gold Elite member and prioritize bonvoy hotels. However, for Vienna I made an exception to choose this location because of how fondly I remembered it. I don’t know that I will be returning unless I hear that hotel updates have been made and the improvement in staff is present as well.
