Great location, staff very friendly and polite. The hotel could do with a little bit of sprucing up, some of the decor was damaged, elephant statue on 2nd floor lift lobby damaged. The hotel room was clean and fresh, but little things like the back of the TV remote was missing, air conditioning switches were grubby, as said only only minor things. Breakfast was your standard fair. But staff need a lesson on how to clean tables. You don't spray cleaning product directly onto the table as the spray goes everywhere, you spray it directly onto the cloth then clean the table. Otherwise, a nice hotel, nice staff in a kicking city.

It was good but we had two rooms and only one had tooth brushes and water in the fridge which would of been really handy in both.We had a long journey and both needed a cup of tea after our long journey but there was only one breakfast tea and two green teas which seemed a little tight. It is unusual to have so many old strains on the carpet in the room. When we came to check in we wasn’t told we needed our door key to use the lift which would be helpful.We missed the usual leaflets you get with hotels with information in the local area, and cab details , etc but we guessed this was due to covid. Really comfortable bed and great breakfast

Ok, not worth £204! I would say it’s just a nicer budget hotel

Stayed 3 nights and all was clean and friendly. The only issue is the coffee machine container leaks

This stay has damaged and chance of staying here again customer service is key this does not exist here poor and to be told go somewhere else for a drink at 9.45pm is extremely difficult

Right from arrival to departure the trip was absolutely faultless, except for the usual keycard hiccups you get at any hotel. All staff were lovely, the room immaculate and the breakfast outstanding. Pool was very nice too. Will definitely be back.

Staying midweek for work. Have had to ask for quieter room, as find some rooms on the front street or close to car park noisy. Occasionally, standard of cleanliness in room could be better, ie. cup rings on stands next to bed or old capsules left in nespresso machine but on the whole it is usually good. Lifts could do with some extra cleaning during the day -as due to footfall they sometimes seem quite unclean - especially when you consider Covid-19.

I was very disappointed with the condition of the swimming pool area, I chose the hotel as it has a swimming pool but when I got there it was so unclean I did not go for a swim. Its sad this let the hotel down.

I was very impressed with the customer service. When we arrived there were a couple of issues with the room, not enough towels, sofa bed not ready and these were sorted out very quickly. The staff members were all exceptionally polite and helpful. We had a great stay and would definitely go back.

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city centre; you could not ask for a more central location. The reception area is not very welcoming and seems to have been an after thought in the design of the hotel; it is totally impractical and does not afford the staff much protection from Covid 19 The customer service was excellent; very friendly, welcoming, efficient and professional. The executive room allocated was large and the bed very comfortable with superb linen etc. The sitting was not very comfortable and you could not work at the cluttered desk and see the TV. The nespresso was broken, as was the air conditioning providing no comfort at all. The room was an accident waiting to occur with no hand rails to aid entry and exit. The shower was excellent. The wifi was intermittent and slow. Breakfast was very good yet lacking the whoa factor.

The front of house staff were AMAZING. Friendly and welcoming, hotel was in a great location for us and the bar area was very nice. We stayed in an executive suite which was a bit shabby and rough around the edges, looks like it just needs a bit of an update. We used the pool and sauna the next working which were OK- again needs a bit of an update.

Really good stay at the Novotel. The room was clean and as expected. The staff were friendly. My only quibble was that we were left waiting for a while to be seated for breakfast and when we were the girl did not explain how the system worked - she just showed us to our seats without so much as a Enjoy your breakfast. Regardless of COVID you are normally informed what to do. I would recommend this hotel as in a great location.

Generally all was OK but I suspect staff shortages caused standards to be below normal... no recognition of my Accor membership and I had to ask for drink voucher. Room wasn't properly cleaned, table next to bed must have had a very sticky drink spilled on it by a previous guest. Normally this hotel is very efficient. Bar staff very helpful and welcoming.

Really disappointed with the poor cleanliness. We felt disgusted. This hotel is not cleaned adequately. The allsafe notices everywhere were an absolute joke as the dirt was visible! The staff did take our complaints seriously and moved us to a different room but the communal areas were also unclean. Have given my feedback and the Novotel/Accor chain replied and said they apologise and are looking into the issues which I appreciate. This should never happen however, especially in a pandemic. I did not feel safe.
