What a disappointment!

The hotel is operating well below the level such a hotel should feature. Sofitel is expected to be a luxury brand of Accor hotels and many yhings were terribly disappointing. Some examples: - the furniture is in bad shape - more than one hour waiting for a simple room service order (a glass of cold milk and a pot of hot water) - no towels and no water in the fitness center (otherwise well equipped) - at check-in they do not say what half-board plan means at this hotel (breakfast and lunch, which is a bit surprising when check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 12 noon... ) - at dinner (which is not included in the half-board scheme), no "à la carte" options. The guests have no choice but a three-course menu at a fixed price. - we asked for a cocktail at dinner time, but even though the bar is just a flight of stairs down, our request was flatly denied - at breakfast (buffet style, included in the half-board plan), i asked an expresso coffee, and I was told it would be charged separately. - we had only one bathrobe in our suite. We asked for a second one, it took more than one hour and a half to be delivered... - the bathroom amenities were very minimal As a conclusion, the hotel did not meet our expectations. I've stayed in Sofitel hotels in various countries and this one is clearly the worst one I've ever seen.

Reception desk must improve the service quality. Some atendants very poorly trained. some were very good. Improve quality as soon as possible. Had to change rooms, due to poor maitenaince. Complete Blackout in te room on the second day.

The hotel is very well located, very clean, the stuff are very welcoming and friendly, the food is very good and the restaurants and bar quality of service is great. The swimming pool and sea services and food are very good, especially the restaurant Mar Casado

NOT A 5-STAR RESORT!

Jequitimar is located on a very agreeable beach and its building and surroundings are quite amazing. However, there are several considerations when you think of a special highly priced 5-star resort as it is rated. First of all, my impression on the Kids' Club was less than regular comparing to other resorts alike. The place is poorly maintained and my 2-yr old granddaughter got hurt by a furniture door that hit her foot while opening it. 
A shame! Regarding the main buffet restaurant "Brisas", the few choices offered and the non-refined dishes are absolutely an unpleasant surprise. Although the service is good, long lines are also very annoying. 
The worst experience whatsoever was that my daughter and I caught a severe food poisoning on Saturday's lunch at Brisas Restaurant (1/29/22) probably for fish consumption. FYI we had all meals at the hotel and our symptoms started at the same time. Unforgiving when you choose such a high level resort! Generally speaking, the staff is very good, there's a lobby bar music entertainment in the evenings and overall cleaning is good. Unfortunately, maintenance is not being well performed as I noticed i.e. signs of oxidation in bathroom mirrors and stains on walls. In my opinion, the resort is wrongly rated as a 5-star and its very high rates are not worthy at all. Same regarding "Brisas Restaurant" that charge the equivalent to US$100 per person for a very lousy buffet. Really sorry for this unfortunate stay! Could’ve been great. But wasn’t.

Three night stay, traveling with a 3 month old baby. A/C didn’t function properly the first night. Informed front desk next morning. They said they would fix it. Following night was chilly, so no A/C. Third night it was hot again, A/C again didn’t work. Informed the front desk at checkout and requested some sort of compensation for their failure to fix the problem. Was told it was our responsibility to report the problem if it had not been fixed. Forgive me for being blunt, but paying R$1500/night for a hotel room, the A/C should work. Going on a trip to relax and spend time with my family shouldn’t include supervising the maintenance work of the A/C. Otherwise, the hotel is nice a bit old but still nice, food is good, staff is friendly. Could’ve been a nice trip but ended up being unpleasant.
