Premium breakfast experience at the Premier Lounge

I was being invited to have breakfast at the tastefully-decorated Premier Lounge by a friend recently. While The spread was somewhat small but it was adequate and yummy. Yet what stood out was that Novotel, a 4 star hotel could have easily surpass any r 5 star hotel lounges in the vicinity given the high quality of food and beverages served. While the bread section at the premier lounge was small but it offered Payson Bretton Butter, a premium French butter. That was a rarity at a 4 star. Moving on, the local fares like Nasi Lemak was so good. I particularly loved the aroma of the chilly paste which went so well with my coconut milk rice. In addition, premium sparkling and still water San Pelligrino and Aqua Panna were served throughout along with coffee and tea. Such beverages can only be seen at a 5 star property and mind you not all 5 star lounges may want to have that as they are costly drinks. To elevate my breakfast experience, the staff, both Asif and Rasid were superb. They wore genuine smiles and were more than happy to be at your beck and call. I think Novotel has definitely hired the best staff. I have stayed there at least twice and i still remembered how proactive and guest- orienting the GM, Ms Angelia Ku was. I wanted to actually meet her that very morning. However she was away. To the management and GM, tq for having me and I definitely will book another stay in the near future to enjoy such sumptuous breakfast again.

As always, we had a great stay and it is really nice to see some familiar faces in the frontdesk. Suprisingly, I got the same room again lol. Although, the breakfast area changed it is still my favorite hotel in KL. The location, the people, and the service. That is experience.

Dreadful reservations and check in. Avoid this hotel if you are in a group as they will certainly mess up your booking.

The worst check-in experience I have ever had. They had our names wrong and were unable to update them. We messed around at the front desk for 45 mins (we had priority check-in) and then our keys did not work. My Accor membership was unable to be updated as my room was under the name of a fellow traveller which they also could not correct. No welcome drink and no discounts on food or beverage were applied as my membership was not linked to my room. The front desk staff are clueless and when I complained multiple times they just looked at me, offering no solutions or offering to bring in a manager to assist. No offers of help or anything of good will was offered as an apology. The problems kept compounding from there. The wrong credit cards were attached to rooms of others in our group and so I was unable to charge anything to my room. My key was cancelled twice during my stay which is incredibly annoying and I was unable to charge anything to my room as the credit card was under another of our party's name. Getting an ice bucket sent to the room took three calls on more than one occasion and I eventually went down tot he bar and collected it myself. Absolute incompetence! It is a shame because the hotel is very well located and the rooms are clean and quiet. Other than the front desk team the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generally awful. Large wheels of cheese unsliced with no means to do so. Freezing cold butter on ice that was rock hard and the coffee was revolting. Compared to the two other Novotel I stayed in the two previous weeks in Vietnam the KL Novotel is an unfunny joke and now that I am home I will have to contact Accor to get my credits added to my membership.

We truly regret that your arrival experience and service interactions fell short of expectations, and we understand how this has affected your overall impression of the stay. Your comments on the breakfast offerings, service rendered at Gourmet Bar and the consistency have also been noted for further review with the respective departments.
