Another wonderful stay at this splendidly situated hotel with shopping, food and MTR transport to any part of Hong Kong within easy reach as they are in the same complex. The complimentary airport shuttle is a big plus. Grima, the amazing staff who I had the pleasure of dealing with earlier in April, was still working at the hotel much to my delight. Retention of staff of her calibre is crucial for any hospitality industry. A familiar face can further elevate the hotel experience for frequent guests. She was as attentive and professional and the provision of a later checkout worked wonders as, unbeknownst to the both of us, my 11 hour flight was delayed by about 4 hours. Was upgraded and had access to the lounge. However, my experience at the lounge reception was the epitome of what ought not be done. Having received my room number, the male staff proceeded to question my right to be there. He called reception, spoke in Cantonese, to ascertain if access was available and regretfully, chose to assert his authority by not being discrete ie using a quieter voice in making his enquiry. I felt highly humiliated and embarassed by his officious manner given there were other guests present and eyes were on me. I accept Cantonese is naturally a "loud" language but one's volume can be controlled at all times. Had I been a first time guest, that would have left a long lasting bad impression. However, as it turned out, staff at reception were too inundated to address his query and he did the right thing by waving me on to enter. I was not ecstatic as, from past experiences, the lounge offerings have been, and still remains, one of the most sparse I have come across but sought the quietness of its space and the view. I walked in, had a look and left. Further enquiries revealed that said staff was a part time replacement. More training in the art of hospitality required here. From check in to check out, Grima maintained the level of attention and care I have come to expect of any 4* hotel. Yes, the rooms are showing signs of wear and tear but remain reasonably clean, great water pressure in shower and portable air filters provided in the room and I will return in spite of the unpleasant experience in the lounge.

It's our first time to stat in Novotel. We chose the hotel because of it's location. Impressive that its connected to MTR and very near the cable car station. We got an early check in too, very polite dtaffs.

Perfect location, mother can shop at citygate, father and kids can play at playground at the park nearby the hotel. Room was spacious. Good hospitality. When i asked about taxi for tomorrow morning, taxi already standby at 5am next day.
