So we travelled all the way from cumbria to Sheffield for the 90's fest that was held in Don Valley Bowl and the closes hotels was this ibis. And I can 100% say it's been a fantastic experience. The staff is absolutely amazing. The manager is super nice when we check in and parked up before the check in time. We left to go to the 90s fest and came back to check in to get our keys 12 h later and the staff was super friendly. I can't fault it at all. 10/10

Noisy due to building works

Lovely improvements to hotel since we last stayed. However it was extremely noisy due to building work. Although there was a sign on reception, it was too late then. Woken up early in the morning. When we came back to the hotel for a rest as my daughter was at a competition, there was banging. Also people running up the corridors late at night

Mixed stay with distturbance

The room and the welcome were good as always. There was maintenance work going on in the hotel, which we weren’t warned about. We were staying as my son was competing in an important ice skating competition, which meant going out for practice and coming back to prepare for competing. On both days the work was quite disturbing, especially in our last morning, which was the most important part of the competition. The work had started outside our room by the time we got back from practicing in the morning, so quite early. Instead of being able to relax before changing in to his costume, we had drilling, electric screw drivers, hammering. All right outside our room, accompanied by shouting and singing, plus swearing. Whilst my son was getting ready I started packing up, as check out would be during his competition. Work was being done in the doorframe in the corridor, where the work a was sat on the floor with tools left in the doorway, even when he wandered off. I felt like an inconvenience every time I had to excuse myself to get through with case, bags, costume carriers. Also, I don’t know whether it was contractors or guests staying in the room above us, but they wee constantly moving around the room, sounding like they were walking in work boots and carrying on into quite late in the night. I didn’t say anything as competition time is quite stressful without confrontation.
