Nice stay, but left a personal belonging behind which has disappeared

elliffer Friends getaway - TripAdvisor review

I had a nice experience staying at this hotel with my friends in February. We stayed for two nights, which was pleasant enough. Walking distance from city centre and nice rooms. On the downside i did leave an item in my room - initially the hotel did call my friend (who made the booking) to let her know. I emailed the hotel and was advised by a member of staff to arrange a courier to collect the item. After i did this and emailed the hotel the confirmation details, I didn’t hear back from them again. I have emailed a few times and are being seemingly ignored. As the item left behind was not cheap, I can’t help but feel like I have been played. If someone from the hotel would like to contact me regarding this, it would be appreciated.

Hotel was nice, room was nice, extremely dissapointed that there was no heating in the room except for 2 small electric heaters that didn’t heat the room through the night and it was cold. On top of this when I complained in the morning I was told a manager would be in touch and still no manager reply.

I always enjoy my stay at Novotel Cardiff, I have stayed here around 10 times previously. However on this stay I was a little disappointed that I did not have a fridge in the room, as every other time I did, so I prepared my lunches at home.

Very disappointed

We paid a bit more to stay in a 4star hotel. This hotel is definitely not 4 star. The hotel is unclean, you walk in and there is a filthy sofa just as you walk in. The felt grubby, there was something all over the net curtain which we have photographed. A mirror had been removed leaving a picture surround where two different paints had been used and holes where the mirror once was, there was no mirror near the hairdryer which was attached and could not stretch to the long mirror. My daughter didn’t want to take a shower because the shower felt dirty. We paid for our stay on arrival and parking, on our last day we were told we still owed money and charged the wrong rate which we were really unhappy about, as it was not our mistake. The location of the hotel is good for accessing Cardiff, however, we would never stay there again following our disappointment and experience.
