I traveled with my two sons ages 13 and 10. The executive room was comfortable and spacious. The mini bar had two tins of water, a small tea and coffee selection. It would have been nice to have some hot chocolate and biscuits in the room. The swimming pool was a good size and warm. The staff were all friendly and the parking was a bit tight but there were plenty of of spaces. The breakfast was well stocked and regularly topped up, once again the staff were friendly and efficient. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel when we are back in Cardiff.

Being disabled, I do lots of research before I stay away from home. Although I booked with you directly, I saw on booking.com that there were 7 accessible parking spots at the hotel. However when I arrived, I saw 2 which were occupied and then a sign that said "Exit and Disabled parking bays" near the entrance to the hotel. We followed that sign just to find that the rest of the bays had been converted to an outdoor seating area. This was a real slap in the face, although a website belonging to someone else could have the wrong information, I would expect the signs to be up to date when I arrive. When I spoke to the person on reception they made no apology, only saying that the manager had decided to make the change. I have a blue badge and was given free parking but I don't understand if that was because I had complained about the parking or if it is the hotel policy to do so. Knowing for sure would influence my decision to come back or not. It would also beneficial to have a separate accessible changing space in the spa area that is not gendered. Carers are often a different sex to the person the are caring for and this creates a barrier to accessibility.

I’m also disappointed to hear that the response you received at reception did not feel particularly understanding or apologetic. Thank you as well for raising the point about an accessible, non-gendered changing space within our leisure facilities. Your comments around carers and the barriers this can create are really valuable and give us something important to consider when looking at future improvements to our facilities. We really appreciate you taking the time to explain your experience rather than simply telling us you were disappointed. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. That being said, the the general state of the hotel and the hotel room felt outdated, worn, and run-down (e.g. chipped paint). The price was too high for the quality, in stark contrast with other Novotels and Ibis hotels I have stayed at. My partner and I can only conclude that the hotel is due for a major renovation.

I stayed with my two children who loved the pool!! Unfortunately no air conditioning in the room and the fan provided was noisy and faulty so resulted in a disturbed warm night. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the gym was good. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The bathroom was in poor condition, with the shower control broken, resulting in very low water pressure. There was also a persistent sewage smell in both the room and common areas. The swimming pool area lacked supervision, with some guests using the pool while wearing everyday clothes that were clearly not appropriate for swimming. There was also considerable noise in the corridors at around 11pm, with people shouting and showing little consideration for other guests. Our room was not cleaned after the first night, which was disappointing. We ultimately decided to shorten our stay. The location is reasonable, although it is around a 15-minute walk to the city centre and closer to 30 minutes to the Quays, so it felt further away than expected. Overall, while the staff were friendly and the gym was good, the issues with the bathroom, cleanliness, sewage smell, noise and swimming pool made the stay disappointing.

Stayed with my husband and teenage children for a couple of days , it was very central and we enjoyed our stay , kids always want a pool and the pool did not disappoint. The staff were very professional and friendly- Hayley and another lady at the reception were very helpful and gave us directions and things to do in Cardiff. I was hoping for a mini fridge for water in the room but that was on meaning not reading the hotel amenities properly .

We come down to Cardiff for the community shield, so knew that the hotel was in a good location with parking and a pool. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see a child play area in reception, in addition to the excellent staff who were welcoming and nothing was trouble. Rooms were comfy, also helped with additional requests for our younger child. Breakfast was good quality and a nice selection, impressed with the restaurant and bar too.

The nice big pool was the big plus. But the corridors in the building and facilities at the pool weren’t clean. And there was a weird s in room and corridors. Breakfast was ok.

The room was clean and comfortable but the swimming pool was overcrowded and freezing cold - even the hot tub was cold. Breakfast in the morning was cold and disappointing. The lady was struggling and explained there was only 3 of them working and she was totally run ragged bless her. The pancake machine kept breaking and we had to have half our breakfast and wait for the rest to cook as they kept running out. Our stay wasn't the chilled relaxing vibe we planned it for, quite disappointing this time.
