Check-in was very quick, got my room card, paid without issue. Though I did find a "friend" in my room, a small insect, not an issue personally, but can see how that might cause someone some alarm. The airco was rather finicky but I got it to work eventually and the bed sheets were very firmly stuffed under the mattress so getting them out was also a nice little challenge.

Rooms are a bit too old and need a good cleaning and an upgrade

Staff promised to send me a corrected invoice and didn’t . I don’t like when people promise something and don’t do it.

We also appreciate your comment regarding the room temperature. Our cleaning staff sets all rooms to 20°C after servicing, which we find to be a comfortable median for most guests. We regret that this was not to your satisfaction upon arrival. It is regrettable that your review creates an impression among prospective guests that our hotel is to be avoided entirely, as implied by a 1/10 rating. I beliete that this severe assessment does not accurately reflect our overall service standards and quality. A simple phone call could have promptly addressed the issue of your missing invoice, thereby preventing such a disproportionate rating. We acknowledge the recent hiccups with our system and understand how these issues might have contributed to your dissatisfaction. We are currently transitioning to a new system, and there have been some challenges during this period. We are working diligently to resolve these issues to ensure a smoother experience for all our guests. We hope to be able to welcome you back on a return visit. The hotel is well located in Waterloo, but maintenance is an issue and could use improvement. It was also disappointing to find the restaurant was only for breakfast.
