So this place wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either… The rooms weren’t overly clean with dirt all round the skirting boards and grimy floors. The beds were rock hard and not great for getting a good nights sleep. Also we only got one teabag so couldn’t even have a cup of tea each on arrival. Also the room had two temperatures freezing cold or boiling hot. However it was a really good location, the staff were nice and it had free parking so it could have been worse. I wouldn’t stay here again if I returned to Carlisle but I have stayed in a lot worse

Friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast, quality and selection, although teaspoons conspicuous by their absence. Plenty of parking. Comfortable bed & good bathroom, the overall decor and some furnishings are looking a bit tired. The main reason for the score not being higher is really outside the hotels control, so I feel a bit bad mentioning it. We have stayed there in the past, and since our last visit there is now a bar/nightclub straight across the road from the hotel, the sound level of the music, even though my room was on the top floor, was ridiculous.... I noticed there is double and supplementary glazing, also ear plugs, thoughtfully provided, in the room but even with these measures the volume was such that I was awake until the music stopped. As I said, I appreciate there isn't much that the hotel can do about it, but maybe a mention on the website about it might be an idea. I strongly suspect the 30 rooms that were available last minute, when we booked, were all facing that bar!! I would even suggest a lower rate for those rooms on nights the venue is in "full Ibiza mode!" might be a plan.

Loved my stay at Ibis Carlisle. Easy check in, friendly staff. Being right next to clubs and bars i was expecting alot of noise in the evening. But the staff asked me if I would prefer a quiter a room which i opted for and it was very quiet. No complaints. Bed was really comfortable. Room basic but very clean. I definitely would stay again.
