The staff were very helpful as I was in a wheelchair. First floor right next to lift. But we decided to stay another night which my daughter paid for through my name. And was charged nearly £90 unbelievable amount to pay especially as we were still in our room I have been a loyal customer for many years and I'm sceptical about returning because we could have atleast got a good discount. I have a loyalty card.

When i arrived I found that my booking had been cancelled because of a problem with the credit card payment at my end. However, this quickly and efficiently dealt with and I enjoyed my stay in the hotel.

The hotel is in a good location just at the edge of Carlisle centre, the main train station is a short walk away. The rooms were a nice size, with comfortable beds, although the room was, even with the window open for ventilation, just a little too warm

The Ibis Carlisle City Centre is, indeed, centrally located and all places to visit within walking distance; including the station for a train trip. The car park is just to the rear of the hotel, with lots of spaces. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast very enjoyable. Enjoyed our stay very much.

myself, husband and three adult children were over from the Netherlands for my Dads cremation. the Ibis in Carlisle felt like a safe haven for a few days.

Our room was clean and smelt fresh. The shower was hot, bathroom clean. The only problem we had that the shower tray filled up quickly and overflowed onto the floor. The breakfast was cooked well and was hot.

Rubbish parking charges communications

We parked in the public car park behind the hotel and paid for parking. Only when we got to the hotel were we told that we could park for free. I complained and said that the booking confirmation should have made this clear - it doesn't! - and when I showed the paper reservation confirmation we had, the rather rude receptionist didn't even bother to look at it and just told me I was wrong. Neither the booking web site nor the confirmation says anything about the parking concession, which was bad enough, but to be told I was wrong when I had written evidence of the omission was appalling and clouded my whole stay. I have stayed in Accor Group Hotels in the UK and Europe for many years and normally they are fine, good value accommodation - but this just sucked. To add insult to injury, the room - a 'Quiet one' was in fact extremely noisy, with a great deal of yelling and shouting from inside and outside the hotel throughout the night. If you enjoy sleeping, I suggest that you look elsewhere as the ear plugs supplied really didn't make a great deal of difference. I may use Accor Hotels again, but won't use this one.

Hotel is ideal.. Comfy beds.. Room on Front that doesn’t have the noise from the discotheque in the back of the Hotel.. Checked in online for a change but it takes a £30 Bond and takes 3-5 Days to get money back into my account.. Still waiting for it

My hubby and I like a night out in carlisle and have stayed at lots of different places. The Ibis has a great spot and has most things that you will need. Room was basic but clean with a comfy bed and decent enough shower. Would happily stay here again if the price was right.

Excellent location, close to railway station and city centre sights and attractions with the bonus of free parking make this ibis a great base to explore the area and venture over the border to Scotland. Reception, bar and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. We'll certainly stay here again next time we're in the area.

Comfortable bed, would have liked a workspace and chair. Good shower. Very good service from reception and breakfast staff. Good breakfast.Convenient free car park Can't fault this Ibis. Very annoyed with Accor that the stay was not automatically recorded on website. I booked this stay specifically to keep my loyalty points. Now I am having to prove I stayed to retrieve the 60,000 points that have been wiped off my loyal programme.
