Stayed with Ibis hotels in Glasgow and Edinburgh and this was below that standard. Corridor carpets stained and worn, paintwork flaking and scuffed, bathroom plumbing noisy and needing fixed, downstairs bar and lobby area is ok though. Didn’t try breakfast and feel perhaps there could have been more effort to show breakfast and bar food offerings? Did have some drinks which were fairly priced. It’s located right beside the nightlife of pubs and cinema and takeaways on a busy and noisy part of the city at the weekend when we stayed. Ideal for some I’m sure just depends what you’re looking for. Downstairs fine, rest of the place from what I saw was tired and needing attention. My partner suggested 1/10 but that isn’t fair… it’s a below average though certainly.

Stayed here a few times before but this time got a room which may as well been in the nightclub behind and even with the window closed the noise was beyond the joke till 5am

Fine, but the best thing about the hotel is the staff. From receptionist to chamber maid they were great. The location was ok, the amenities in the room were sparse, we had to ask for towels, pillows, toilet roll and these should be standard, I asked other guests and they said the same thing that it was like there was a shortage of these things int he hotel

Easy to find / near to the main railway station. Clean. Very friendly staff. Hotel is on a busy main road and the room allocated to us was at the front on the main road. I’m not sure if the hotel was full but it would have been nice to have a room at the back which would have been quieter ( sleeping with window open / fresh air possible).

We stayed in Carlisle for one night. Although the room has everything we needed, it was looking very tired and needed updating. The staff were helpful at all times. And the breakfast was fine.

Unfortunately, the overall standard of cleanliness and maintenance was extremely poor. The carpets throughout the hotel were absolutely filthy and looked as though they had not been properly cleaned in a long time. The entire hotel felt dirty, scruffy and dated, creating a very poor first impression. The furniture, beds and general décor appeared very cheap and worn, giving the property a neglected feel. The bathroom was exceptionally small and did not provide a comfortable or practical space for guests. Combined with the lack of cleanliness throughout the hotel, it significantly impacted our stay. To be honest, I felt uncomfortable even getting into the bed because the room did not feel clean. At over £70 per night, I expected a much higher standard. As Ibis is an international hotel brand with a reputation to uphold, I was particularly disappointed that this hotel fell so far below the standards I associate with the brand. Overall, this hotel did not represent good value for money and was one of the poorest hotel experiences I have had. I feel it is important that these issues are addressed to improve the experience for future guests. I would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to others based on my experience.

Room was comfortable however water would not drain away in the sink. We reported it . It was cleared then filled up again. Ear plugs were provided exoected some noise from outside as its a main road but also woken up about 3am shouting from guests in the hotel corridor
