The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the historic centre of Cusco, however the check-in experience was not very smooth. We arrived early so understandably they told us our room was not ready and to please come back in a few hours. When we came back at the time they told us to come, instead of telling us that the room was still not ready or giving us some other room, they said it’d only take a few minutes, we had to wait for more than 40 minutes, they hadn’t even started preparing our room at all.

The Novotel is conveniently located close to the Plaza de Armas. The lobby is impressive and has an open and airy feel. The room was clean and well kept. Unfortunately my room was incredibly dark even with every light turned on. In addition, charging your devices is extremely difficult as the outlets in my room were hidden and not conveniently placed. All of the outlets are horizontal as well which made it almost impossible to charge anything with a converter or adapter.

Unfortunately the walls are very thin and I was constantly disturbed by the people in the room next to me. Also, I tried to order room service but no one ever answered even though I called them and the restaurant multiple times.
