Sorry - a REALLY bad experience. Despite the hotel being far from full we were put in a room directly on Pennant Hills Road. Quiet rooms were available but not offered. The noise overnight was so bad we hardly slept. They claim "big double beds" - should be standard double bed. Curtains had FILTH all over them - no one seemed to care. Food ordered for dinner was "sold out" - at just 7:00pm. Generally this hotel is very badly run down and not a credit at all. The bathroom - hmm, a fibreglass shell.

Very poor, don't expect too much !

BEWARE - When we stayed here, May 8th, '24, the web site said " ...complimentary parking and free parking"... When we checked in they tried to charge us $10 parking !! We argued - no secure parking, no boom gate, no undercover parking, no free parking for disabled.... No reason to charge for parking ..... Just greedy !! I remember when this hotel was built, about 25 years ago, and somehow it has missed the clean and renovate schedule !! Looking very old, faded, dirty and tired on the outside and the inside isn't much different - old furniture being used when it should have been ditched years ago. The room we had was tired and scuffed, the queen bed was saggy and the pillows cheap and lumpy. Not a comfortable night in our bed. We will find another hotel next time. Disappointing !

Don’t bother, there are better options.

My stay at this Ibis hotel was absolutely horrible. I am not normally one to complain but this deserves a comment. On arrival after flying into Sydney from Busselton we arrived around 10:45pm. Man checking us in was rude and not helpful. As the booking was placed by a 3rd party (the hotel was sent an email confirming this) they demand I ring them to confirm whom I was at 11pm at night. I offered to pay to save the hassle but was denied this option. Breakfast was included and paid for in my booking but they could not find it for a few days so Mc Donald’s down the road it was. They finally found that I indeed did have breakfast included on my second last day which was very average quality indeed for a lukewarm and dry buffet. The room was very old and damp, beds were made daily but only just thrown together like a teenager had been nagged to do it at home, pillows were completely flat and must have been decades old as they had very little life in them. It took the front desk 2 days to find me a tv remote as one was not in the room nor was there a hotel directory to use the phone to ring front desk or room service. Front desk staff were not interested in guests what so ever, they were more interested in entertaining each other, which I found odd considering it is a hospitality industry. I understand it is a budget hotel but come on….. I will be staying elsewhere from now on.

Please avoid at all cost.

Please avoid. Hotel is filled with mould which looks as though they’ve painted over it and is absolutely dirty. Had to move rooms as first room was filled with spiderwebs and a very strong musky wet carpet smell. The second was a bit cleaner until you pull the covers back on the bed. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I now have all symptoms of mould toxicity and am very sick.

Needs improvement

First: the good. The reception staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The air conditioning worked well and the room was quiet. The not-so-good: I found the bed very uncomfortable and woke up with a back ache. Just one rather flat pillow too. I know mattress firmness is an individual thing and maybe some people find these beds comfortable, but not me. The actual bad: there were no bedside tables in the room. I’ve never ever stayed at a hotel with no bedside tables before. I was travelling with my mum who needs to use a CPAP machine and she had to push her bed across the room so she could use the built-in desk by the window to rest and plug in her machine. The bathroom was a weird sort of dropped-in prefabricated quarter-circle that you have to step up into, and the shower floor was plastic and spongy and felt like I was going to fall through. There was a sign in the bathroom warning us that steam from the shower could set off the smoke alarms and if that happened we would be liable for the fire brigade call-out fee of $1500. Despite this there was no extractor fan in the bathroom! There was also a sign asking us not to boil the kettle under the smoke alarm for the same reason. But that’s where they keep the kettle… The room also had an unpleasant musty smell, like the carpets had got wet and mouldy. We tried to open the window for fresh air but it was so noisy we had to close it again. So here are my suggestions for making this hotel a more pleasant place to stay: Add some bedside tables. Even just one to share between the two beds. Get the carpets cleaned, or replaced. Change the smoke alarms. Most smoke alarms aren’t triggered by shower steam! Replace the pillows, or at least have more than one per bed. I acknowledge that this is a budget hotel and a no-frills approach is expected, but I’ve stayed in much cheaper places that were much more comfortable and welcoming!
