Got to be the worst establishment I have stayed in (cannot call it an Hotel) Company made a booking with IBIS on my recommendation after first booking me in Travelodge which had no food facilities. This road as 4 or 5 hotels all next to each other on a stretch of busy road. I arrived at 7pm at the IBIS to be told I was booked into the budget hotel next door but one, first warning sign. My booking had not taken payment so I had to call our accounts personal number to authorise. I asked where the Restaurant and Bar was only to be told they do not have one, only a vending machine or a freezer full of £2 frozen curries they charged £15 for. I was also told I could eat at the other IBIS. I went to my room and to my dismay it had 2 small very hard single beds, small tv, no kettle or drinks, room was freezing and heater was broken. Then the noise from the traffic was the next. I went into the bathroom to be greated by a shower curtain and disabled rails and seat, I then also noticed the sink was lower than my knees which proved a backache in the morning for a shave. I went to the other IBIS hotel where the service was even worse than the other. Firstly no draught beer only expensive bottles, waited 10 mins for this, my meal came with burning hot pie and cold chips, I asked for vinegar and was given a bowl of black balsamic vinegar, I asked for Malt to be told we only have this. I soon finished and left, not a chance I was going to have breakfast here the following day. I went the Premier Inn next door for a good breakfast. Back to the freezing room where I had to sleep in a T Shirt it was that cold, and I say sleep very loosly as I hardly got any. I could not wait to check out, and reception never said a word, asked how my stay was or anything, zilch, the place wants avoiding.

Ok I get you get what you pay for and I’m fully on board with this but this hotel fell far below my expectations. Room is basic, but ample for what you pay for it. The problem is the awful sewage smell as soon as you put the tap on that you could also smell in the bathroom and corridor - this isn’t normal and really needs addressing. Shower didn’t actually turn on, the tap was completely stuck. Stood there in my pyjamas at 8 in the morning I had no choice but to use brutal force, turned it on to a dribble at best. Managed a “shower” but then no way of turning the thing off. This would’ve been checked when the cleaner last cleaned the shower so how they allowed for the room to be made available for guests is beyond me. Yes you get what you pay for but I’d highly recommend another budget chain. Recommendation for hotel - can we please normalise discreetly informing check in guests of their room number. Arrived just before midnight on my own with my 10 year old (I’m female) and announced my room number in front of another guest which made me really uncomfortable

Very nice indeed... Most of the staff seem to be from The Ukraine (I asked them out of curiosity when I heard their accents). Lady checking me in was very pleasant, friendly and lovely (sorry I didn't get her name). Room was spacious, comfy, and clean and bed very comfortable. Loved the fact there was air conditioning. I think more buildings in the UK should have air conditioning for the summer months just like we have central heating for the colder winter months. Spacious shower room and shower easy to use. And fresh clean towels provided everyday. Very pleasant Ibis Budget hotel, cheap and very cheerful which met my needs as that is exactly what I was looking for. I would certainly highly recommend. Would have been even better had there been a cooked breakfast provided but was just a continental breakfast... I like a good old fashioned cooked full English breakfast, but that's only a personal preference and only a minor thing as far as I am concerned. It certainly didn't spoil my stay, and it certainly wouldn't stop me from staying here again or stop me recommending this place to others. It's a bit of a walk to the centre of Barking but again that's not a complaint. I'm putting on weight these days and I probably needed the exercise LOL :)

Recieved a ticket for £160 for dropping off guest who was staying here. I asked staff if I was over the drop off time who stated I was ok and didn’t need to register my car. Few days later, I recieved a ticket demanding payment. Despite following the hotel staff’s instructions, I received a PCN claiming I had “failed to register my vehicle.” After researching, I discovered that many other guests have experienced the same issue, as evidenced by numerous online reviews. I contacted Accor customer service who lied through their teeth and fobbed me off! I’ve now emailed the ceo but have not recieved a response. It’s incredibly frustrating that even after acting in good faith, guests are forced to spend hours appealing an unnecessary and baseless fine. This not only wastes precious time but also causes stress, hassle, and completely ruins the experience of a vacation or business trip that should be relaxing and enjoyable. In today’s fast-paced world, guests shouldn’t have to defend themselves against parking tickets they shouldn’t have received. This situation reflects poorly on both Ibis Barking and Accor as a whole. Accor, a global hotel brand, should not allow guests to be repeatedly penalised due to a poorly managed and poorly integrated parking system. It’s high time Accor took serious action to resolve this recurring issue, rather than letting loyal customers bear the consequences of a broken process. If you’re planning to stay here, be extremely cautious about parking, and even then, don’t be surprised if you still get fined.

Extremely disappointing stay – no resolution from Accor Hotels I stayed at Ibis Budget London Barking (Booking reference: PJSLFCNG dates: [25th -28th July 2025) and experienced multiple issues that seriously affected my stay: • The room key failed repeatedly, requiring multiple trips to reception. • The soap dispenser in the shower did not work and was only fixed after I complained three times. • The television in the room did not work for the entire stay and was completely ignored by staff despite being reported. • The 24-hour menu advertised sandwiches on arrival, but none were available – I had to settle for an overpriced croissant and tea. • The receptionist on duty was unhelpful and unprofessional, making the whole experience unpleasant. I raised these issues directly with the hotel and later with Accor Hotels customer service. Unfortunately, their responses were generic apologies with factual inaccuracies and no offer of compensation or refund. For a global hotel group, this level of service and unwillingness to resolve legitimate complaints is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this hotel and would advise other travellers to consider alternative accommodation.
