So, where do I start with this one...well, we were excited to go to the Christmas Markets and experience the cukture of Brussels. This excitement would be short lived and soon turn into apprehension and regret. Arriving at the Eurostar Terminal, we stepped off the train and were immediately greeted with the overpowering smell of urine. We left the terminal and took the wrong exit. Top tip No.1 aim for the exit marked Rue Du Angleterre, that will take you right to the hotel...Turn right at the top and 20m away is the entrance to the hotel. Do this and you will avoid the rows of immigrants lining the street, openly drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis. A personal highlight was the man who opened what looked like an electric cupboard, and then started whip pit his member and proceed to openly urinate. It was like walking through an African shanty town in the Walking dead. So, onwards to the safety of the hotel. Check in was simple enough and we got to our room which was OK. Sadly, no hot drink making facilities for tea or coffee. Room was a good size. The view, well, that was of a block of flats opposite. I had to wait until 5pm til the var opened to get a cup of tea, only to be told to come back by the barman as he was cleaning the machine. There was a kettle and microwave on the bar that was free to use. Top tip No. 2... bring a mug and tea bags with you. (The barman gave me a mug, tea bag and milk and inmade it myself). So, later on after a bit of sightseeing, we decided that rather than go out to eat, we would eat at the hotel...well that was the plan until the barman had a good moan how he was on his own and didn't have time to cook/make food and then told us to go to the restaurant 50m down the road. Bemused, we did, but sadly there was nothing that an 8 year old would eat on the menu...same with the next place 100m away, so we returned and the barman begrudgingly made us two pizzas off the snack menu. The next morning, it was breakfast. We got to the podium and met the most grumpy woman ever. She had her phone on , earpiece in and it was like we were an inconvenience. You aren't shown to a seat and its a bit of a free for all. There was no normal tea, only herbal. I asked for normal "black tea" as they call it, only to be told "NO...NO BLACK TEA FOR YOU. JUST WHAT IS THERE!" So that was that! The breakfast was a buffet affair and was fine with lots of options, typical of the continent. Cooked options, cereal, self serve waffle making and randomly, one morning there was lasagne! That was a new one! This theme of grumpy staff would continue throughout our stay. With the exception of reception, the staff where all attached to their phones, rabbiting away to someone. I never once saw the security guard not be on his phone at any of the various points throughout the day. The end of our 2 night stay came and we asked about luggage storage. As other have noted, this is not free. You need coins. Lockers are between 3 to 7 euros each dependant on size of locker. You need to get there early.for the large ones...and if you open it, before you are ready, you'll have to pay again! The hotel was clean and comfortable but lacked the basic tea making facilities in the room. The general area where the hotel is located is convenient for the Metro and Eurostar. The actual location is really run down and a dump. Graffiti everywhere, gangs of Africans off their faces on drink/drugs and begging. I can't believe the Belgian authorities haven't gripped this up and allowed this to be the first impression people will get of Brussels! Would I stay here again? Well, I'm not in a rush to go back to Brussels anytime soon and whilst the hotel itself was OK if I had to go back, I would go closer to the Grand Place and pay a bit extra.

Dear Mr C., Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased that you found the check-in process straightforward and that the room size met your expectations, offering cleanliness and comfort during your stay. However, we are disheartened to hear about the issues you encountered outside of our premises and the subsequent service challenges within our hotel. We understand the importance of a welcoming environment and regret that the surroundings did not reflect this. Regarding the lack of hot drink facilities in the room, we usually provide these amenities in our premium rooms, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are also sorry to hear that your dining experience did not meet your expectations. Your comments are important to us and will be used to evaluate our services. Moreover, we regret that the staff's demeanor did not convey the high standard of hospitality we strive to uphold. Lastly, we acknowledge the inconvenience you faced with the luggage storage; we provide this service for a fee to ensure the security and convenience for all our guests. Nonetheless, we are glad to hear that you appreciated our hotel's proximity to the Metro and Eurostar, which provides easy access to transport options. Our location is indeed a plus for many travelers, and we hope that it helped facilitate your movements during your visit. We hope that you will return in the future for a more enjoyable stay. Best wishes for 2025! Kindest regards, Christophe Lac, Hotel Manager

Dangerous. Terrible area to stay in

We were not made aware that the parking was on the street and unsafe. On the website it said parking. We had to pay 45 euro for parking for one night. The receptionist told us that it is unsafe to leave the car parked in the street. The area including the outside of the hotel is disgustingly dirty and dangerous. It smells terribly bad. I will never ever be back and will never recommend this hotel especially for the price we paid. No water no coffee in the rooms, absolutely nothing. A proper ripp off

Dear Mrs B., Thank you for taking the time to review your visit. We are deeply concerned to hear about the challenges you faced during your stay, particularly with the parking situation. Our website aims to provide clear information about parking, and we regret any misunderstanding. While we do not have a private parking facility, there are several secure public parking options nearby, such as QPark Midi Station. We understand the receptionist's advice was for your vehicle's safety, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Regarding the surrounding area, we take the safety and comfort of our guests very seriously and are saddened to hear that you felt otherwise. Please know that we are continuously working with local authorities to address these concerns, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We also recognize the importance of in-room amenities for a comfortable stay, and we apologize if our offerings did not meet your expectations. Our premium rooms do include complimentary water and tea & coffee making facilities, and we are sorry if this was not adequately communicated to you. Furthermore, we understand how essential easy access for luggage can be. We will take your feedback into consideration as we strive to improve the accessibility of our facilities. Lastly, we are sorry to hear that the comfort and condition of your room did not meet our usual standards. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are taking it seriously to ensure that these issues are addressed. We hope we may have the occasion to welcome you back for an improved experience. Best wishes for 2025! Kindest regards, Christophe Lac, Hotel Manager
