This Novotel is my hotel of choice when I am staying in London for work. I never feel uncomfortable staying here on my own. Rooms are great and spacious but I was treated to an upgrade on arrival this time by the most welcoming team member. The room I was allocated was lovely, on the seventh floor and very modern. Best shower ever!

Almost everything at Novotel was as expected. Very good location, rooms are good. Breakfast and dinner was very good. Unfortunately I'm very frustrated with the following issue. When we were able to access our room at approx. 14.30 hrs. we noticed the plug of the sink was broken and would not come up, hence dirty water in the sink. We reported this problem at the font desk, and the problem would be fixed that afternoon. We went into town and were back at approx. 22.30 hrs. and noticed the dirty water was still in the sink. So I went to the front desk again, where I was promised maintenance would come right up. After waiting for over half an hour I called the front desk when we could expect maintenance. Staff member was very sorry and promised maintenance would come up immediately. Within a minute I was called back that maintenance was not available and that the problem could only be fixed the next morning. So I let staff know I was not very pleased and they offered us another room and 2 free drinks at the bar. It is not the problem with the sink, but all the promises not being kept that frustrates me so much. Would they have mentioned in the afternoon that the problem can only be fixed the next day, I wouldn't be bothered at all, wouldn't even have taken the other room. Please let your staff not make any promises they can't keep. It was your very friendly staff in the restaurant and the bar that has made our stay satisfactory. Would have been a 9 if the issue was handled in a proper way.

Every member of staff was welcoming and helpful. The restaurant has a great vibe and a really good menu. Very different from the hotel restaurants I've stayed in before. The breakfast is great! You could really taste the mushrooms and eggs weren't just warmed up (I love pepper). The variety was amazing - olive bread in a breakfast buffet?? The mattress was really comfortable, the shower spacious and the TV restricted to a sensible level of noise. We loved spending the night with you.

We had a fantastic time staying in this hotel. From the moment we walked in the staff were lovely and welcoming and the hotel itself was smart and well kept. The only issue we had was a slightly rude housekeeper on the final day, but this was just a minor convenience compared to the rest of the hotel. The room was amazing and well kept. Will definitely be considering this hotel for future trips to london. The location is perfect for travelling and sightseeing

Well located for my half marathon!

Great location for the start line of my half marathon on Sunday. Room was lovely and spacious and had everything I needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay including biscuits / coffee! I was on the 1st floor which meant that I could hear quite a lot of noise from the Keepers Bar/Restaurant which made it rather challenging to fall asleep early but around 11-midnight it quietened down. Not ideal when you want an early night ahead of a half marathon. I was quite disappointed and surprised that I could hear so much noise. It was largely the sound of chairs and tables moving on the floor which kept me awake. Furthermore, I think the shower was leaking as the carpet by the bed and bedding closest to the shower was soaked. By the time I realised, it was too late to go down to reception (in my pajamas) and change rooms as I needed to get up early for my race the next morning and get to sleep. I did want to raise this as I checked out of the hotel on the Sunday morning but there wasn't anybody at reception and I needed to head off for my race. Overall, I would recommend the hotel but was really disappointed that I was kept awake until quite late which meant I didn't have a good nights sleep. For the price of the room, you expect to sleep well and not have wet carpet beside your bed.

Regarding the shower leak, i personally checked the room with maintenance team to investigate about it, but we didn't find any leek coming from the shower. For us is disappointing as our aim is to provide the best quality of service to our guests, i do apologize if we missed you. We were booked in for 2 days. The reason for the booking was that I was running the Vitality Half Marathon. It was in fact the first one I had every run and I wanted it to be special and relaxing. I was very impressed with our reception on arrival and getting to our room. The first day we were really happy. On the Sunday, as I was running the Vitality Half Marathon I wanted to relax when I got back to the hotel after the run. We were disappointed on coming back to find that although the towels were changed (we made our own bed before leaving) the housekeeping had failed to replace coffee and tea. This really left a bad feeling and I was just too tired to do anything about it. Luckily, they did replace the water, so we just stayed in a drank water. Shame they let us down over such a silly thing.

Having stayed a loads of Novotel's I tend to mentally compare them all. I'm still looking for the perfect one though. Initially upon check-in I was greeted and checked in very efficiently. They acknowledged my gold status, provided me with a drinks voucher and arranged my welcome gift. Upon entering my room I had a courtesy call to make sure all was ok. So far, top work. The corridor carpets were clean, the room was impeccability clean and all looked great. I even noted the iron wasn't tethered to the ironing board like in some Novotels and the coffee capsules weren't all decaf like I've experienced! However, when it came to sleeping time I noticed the curtains had no surround, and lots of light leaked in at the sides. The curtains themselves were great, they overlapped well in the middle, but at the edges as there wasn't a surround light just spilled in. Very very frustrating. I don't sleep well without a full blackout and alas with no eye mask and lots of light, sleep wasn't great. Getting up also highlighted another issue. The shower head was in need of a proper clean. It was orange with limescale and as I turns it on, water shot out at all angles from the large fixed overhead rose. This covered me in cold water and flooded the floor. So while it was all great initially, the room let the stay down a little.

The hotel was above our expectation, the room was good sized, very modern and clean. We stayed for our son's birthday and there was a card and a cake for him left in the room, which was lovely. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of choice and all food was tasty. We enjoyed our stay with you.
