From the start (a difficult booking experience because I was on a train when my previous hotel let me down). My internet connection was so poor I had to book by phone. The IBIS were really understanding, could not have been more helpful. I was made to feel so welcome in very difficult circumstances for me. The stay was excellent and the breakfast in particular was outstanding.

Overpriced and disappointing

The car park is extremely awkward and the room given to us felt more like a prison cell. The bathroom did not come with shower matts and when requested we were told that we would have to pay £10 for 1???? The room cost around £150 for what felt like an extremelyyyyyy budget experience. The lights in the room were broken, the shower was dirty and when turned on would spray water all over the floor... without a bathmat the whole floor was wet throughout. The beds were very narrow and uncomfortable.

Lift likes to always stop on the ground floor

The lift always stops on the ground floor where the bar and reception area are regardless of which floor you have pressed the button for. The room was adequate with everything that a basic hotel room should have. On the second night of my three night stay when I returned to the room the keycard slot no longer triggered the lights in the room. This eventually, after much too-ing and fro-ing from the night staff (it was after midnight) led to me changing room, having had to pack in the dark - as compensation I was offered a drink, and the following night I was given a kit kat and a snickers. The second room was actually better as it faced the trampoline station, rather than the station and was quieter. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, and not far from the city centre.
