Very old hotel (to give you an idea: old fashionned physical keys). poor breakfast: very few fresh fruits (no taste), pancakes warmed in microwave. Not matching Mercure' standards. Safety rules not respoected in the swimming pool area (kids playing and jumping alone). Decoration from the 70's. Website pictures not matching with reality.

Our stay at the Mercure Chiang Mai has been amazing. Our experience with staff have been a highlight. Hotel reception have been very helpful and kind. The rooms are older but spacious, clean have a good style. I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitors of Chiang Mai. I will definitely stay here again

I stayed at Mercure Chiang Mai from 13–17 November as an Accor Platinum member, and I was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. Since the property is a renovated older hotel, I initially wasn’t entirely confident about what to expect. This was also my first stay here, having usually preferred ibis in the Nimman area but Mercure Chiang Mai exceeded my expectations in both service and room quality. From the moment I checked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The evening-shift staff, particularly the gentleman and lady who handled my check-in, created an excellent first impression. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained; despite being a renovated older property, the cleanliness and upkeep were much better than I anticipated. During my stay, I encountered only a minor issue. I noticed that the bidet spray in the bathroom had some undesirable stains. Once I informed the front office, they handled the situation promptly and replaced it immediately, which I greatly appreciated. On the day of checkout, however, I experienced a noticeably different interaction. The female front desk staff member with glasses was polite but seemed unusually reserved. I wasn’t entirely sure whether she was intentionally maintaining a more formal, professional demeanor in front of the two new staff members who were standing beside her, but the interaction came across as rather cold and disengaged. From a guest’s perspective, it felt almost dismissive, more like an abrupt “Alright, you’re checked out. Goodbye,” than the warm or attentive farewell I had consistently received throughout the stay. Despite this, my overall experience remained overwhelmingly positive. Mercure Chiang Mai delivered far beyond what I expected from a renovated property, and I left feeling genuinely satisfied. This hotel will definitely be on my priority list for future trips to Chiang Mai.
