Rooms and bathrooms are compact, but adequate. Staff are friendly. Rooms are serviced daily without this having to be requested and the price was less than half what I was quoted for the Premier Inn next to the station for the three nights I stayed. There is a Greggs two minutes walk away (or a Wetherspoon five minutes walk away) for those who don't fancy paying £12 for what looked like a mediocre breakfast. A few rowdy customers in the early hours on one of the three nights, but I guess there isn't a lot the hotel staff can do about this.

When we checked in, we were allocated room 223 and when we arrived at the room we entered only to find other customers' belongings were already in there. We reported this to reception where a young man mumbled an apology, offered no explanation, spoke briefly to a colleague and then gave us room 224. Given the story in the news recently, I think it's appalling from a safeguarding perspective that we were given access to someone else's room, and that staff were at best apathetic about it. On another note, for the price we paid for a twin room for two adult men, the size of the room was ridiculous. It was almost impossible to use the bathroom without banging into something, and the twin beds may as well have been a double given there was only about three inches between them.
