Behind the brutalist exterior there is a decent hotel

Stayed here as part of a group, although I booked my room independently of the group. Check-in was quick and efficient. There are only two lifts for the hotel, which is sometimes not enough. My (privilege) room was comfortable and just about cool enough (it was over 30C outside) with a surprisingly spacious bathroom. Staff worked hard at breakfast to replenish the buffet. The hotel is located in a fascinating area built in the 1970s, when the idea was that cars would be at ground level and pedestrians would walk on elevated walkways. Unfortunately there is not really any access from the hotel to the walkways, but it's only a short walk to a tram stop, a more conventionally arranged street or the historic part of the city. Worth considering if the price is right.
