On many fronts, the hotel overdelivers for budget hotel, such as providing tissues in the bathroom, and the restaurant food is basic but actually well-prepared and reasonable value. Service from all members of staff is really excellent too. The negatives seem to relate to cost-saving. The air conditioning seems to be on a setting which stops the air from cooling. I had to sleep with the window open which made the room very noisy due to proximity to the A1. The safes in all of our 3 rooms were not working, I think the batteries have been removed, and none of the bathroom fans were working (to save electricity?).

Spent a week here, room and bed comfortable, pleased to have a window that opened as the room was incredibly hot, and no matter what I did to the air con the temperature reverted to a high heat within the hour. Like the option of opting out of room clean which I did for the whole week (have yet to receive the reward points for doing this). There were a couple of negatives, the inside of the bath /shower needs a good clean (you can’t see this until you are inside the bath) and the shower screen needs sealing so it doesn’t keep flooding the bathroom. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast buffet, the quality of the ingredients weren’t what I expected (the bacon was fatty, tasteless and almost uncooked) and there was no vegetarian alternatives offered or instructions and how to access and the toasters are the slowest in the world! With a Greggs, a McDonalds and a Toby all you can eat breakfast within a couple of minutes I would recommend going elsewhere! Having said all that, the staff I spoke to were polite and helpful, the hotel was good value for money and I would be happy to stay again
