For a 4 star hotel it's a pity you have to resort to paper cups with the tea making equipment. The bar was closed so we were unable to buy a drink after returning from the theatre at 2330 hrs. I've been staying at this hotel on my visits to Paris for the last 25 years and feel some of the standards have fallen.

Relaxed hotel in a great location

This hotel remains my favourite Paris hotel: it has a chilled, relaxed yet business-like atmosphere and is set within a vibrant area, full of theatres and restaurants along with a large scale supermarket very close by. It has been - and remains - my go-to hotel, and I was very pleased to see a new control unit for the air-conditioning/heating system in my room (211). However, there were just a couple of tired signs beginning to show in the room and I offer my comments as observations rather than criticisms. Specifically, the plastic shower base is showing its age by patchy greying, whilst the shower itself drained very, very slowly. The only other comment I have is that the comfortable chair was stained, leaving me unwilling to use it.
