Fantastic location, excellent service but problematic privilege room

On the pro side - the hotel is located centrally so that it is a short walk to Stephansplatz and Kartner Strasse and a very short walk to the nearest ubahn station at Schweidenplatz; the staff are excellent and accommodating; the standard purple rooms offered the best accommodations as far as i was concerned and I felt at home during my stay. On the con side - I reserved a privilege room which had several serious flaws: the toilet did not work properly; the safe was locked when i entered and had to be opened by a member of staff; there was no desk in the room but rather only a small table; the side table at one end of the bed was so low that it was unusable; the closet was open rather than closed and there was not enough drawer space or shelf space for clothing. After being there for one night, I wrote a complaint and was shown several rooms. The purple standard room was the best one with a desk, a closed closet, shelf space and a minibar which included constant replenishment of soda and water. Another flaw is the small lobby which does not allow more than 3 people to sit comfortably.

Hotel was okay, location was great. Room was a little tired, pillows were awful on the bed, clearly lost any form and shape. A bit dated, but okay.

Service, accomodations and location are all indeed good. At the breakfast area we were always well served specially by Freddy Montoya who was very kind and give us good advice about the food and the area. Highly recommended.

Great 2 Night Stay!

Great 2 night stay, check in was friendly and swift. We were also given a complimentary wafter snack to welcome us. Our room was a nice size and clean, it was perfect for a 2 night stay. Complimentary water was also provided. Location wise it was great, walking distance to all places, we did not feel the need to get cabs or public transport as the longest walk we took was maybe half hour, which we didn't mind. We did not opt for breakfast as we thought it was slightly pricey at 26 euro per head, per morning. We are not big breakfast people so decided to get coffee and pastries elsewhere as we didn't feel the breakfast would be good value for us. This was shame as it would have been easier and nicer to grab a coffee in the hotel too but it was too expensive for our needs. My friend kindly informed the hotel that we were staying as a Birthday trip and the general manager kindly left a lovely note, bar of chocolate and a bottle of Red Wine complimentary for us to enjoy, which we did and were really grateful for!
