WOW!!! This is an amazing place to stay!!! We had a beautiful beach bungalow with an outdoor shower and bathtub. On the beach just outside were chaise lounges, hammocks, and even a tree swing. At night the entire resort lights up. The landscaping is just outstanding. The restaurant and tahitian dance shows were awesome. We loved our stay here and hated to leave. Thank you Keith and Keiley Venture Tahiti for the recommendation.

Could be better with more staff and more focus on customers

Positives - good snorkelling from hotel beach and loads of fish to see from the decking area. Tennis courts. Great kayak. Lovely room (we were in beach front bungalow). A couple of the staff were lovely - Tama particularly from the beach bar made our stay really enjoyable. Also Wolfgang on the crepe station Close to ferry port so not long to transfer. Nice food in main restaurant and at breakfast - particularly the sausage bao buns were gorgeous! Some of the courses at K were lovely (honey soy tuna and foie gras - the rest not so much). Enjoyable Polynesian show. Chickens roaming around didn’t bother us at all. Challenges - the hotel is pretty dated. Our room had doors and windows that didn’t work properly and we found out part way through that a previous guest had reported these issues and asked to be moved from our room. The room was very dark because we couldn’t open the shutters as the glass covers were stuck. The aircon unit was very temperamental. There was animal droppings on our bed twice. We told reception the first time and she reassured us it was a gecko (although we didn’t see a gecko the whole time we were there). She gave us a free cocktail voucher each as a result. They had put a free champagne in our room as it was our honeymoon which was a nice touch and a box of chocolates- but the chocolate box was empty?! Poor attention to detail. The shower opened to outdoors but it was so dirty and dilapidated that you wouldn’t want to open it. They have a 3-5pm snacks / drinks offer on certain days. We ordered from it (hummus and hot chocolate). The snack deal charged us 3500XPF for this. But to order those items from the menu was much cheaper than this. So we queried it. The waiter tried to fob us off and said the normal hummus was much smaller. But we had ordered it on a separate day and it was exactly the same. So they changed the bill and we paid the right lower price but in a luxurious resort you shouldn’t even have to question this sort of thing. The pool area was unattractive- no staff were keeping an eye on it so it was generally full of dirty plates, used towels, sand all over. It would only need checking on once an hour maybe and clear away, sweep up. The sunbeds had no cushions on so were uncomfortable. Same on the beach. The sand was pretty unclean and on 2 of the days we were there it wasn’t raked over at all. It felt like the resort was really understaffed. I mentioned all these things upon checkout but the manager was pretty uninterested and reluctantly knocked us USD50 off our bill and gave us 1 hour late check out. I’m led to believe some of these challenges are similar for the other resorts in Moorea but for what you pay, you do not feel you are getting a high end experience. Compared to Bora Bora etc yes the prices are a lot lower here, but you should still expect good service and good quality resort. I think with more staff who focus more on service and a renovation this hotel could be amazing. I think what you are paying for is being in a Moorea. Moorea is a lovely island and I would just recommend booking several excursions to get out and about so you’re not as dependent on enjoying the hotel. We went swimming with whales and also on a jeep safari with the most amazing viewpoints. Wanted to do the food tour but we had left it too late to book. Also would have been worth going to try some restaurants on the island too. While there was a list of challenges from this hotel we did enjoy our stay. But if coming back would definitely see if somewhere else was better.

Great experience from check in to check out

The overwater bungalows are amazing. However, everything is a bit dated and needs to be refreshed. Additionally the food on sight is extremely expensive (expected) but very poor quality. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The app, which you are required to do most things through, is horrendous.
