The grounds were perfectly manicured and the rooms modern and well appointed. We had an overwater bungalow and the snorkeling just off our deck was some of the best we had in French Polynesia. The food was as very good and we didn’t feel the need to leave the property. Also found some modestly priced French wines on the hotel’s list that added to our meals without overdoing it. When we come back to French Polynesia we will come back to Sofitel Moorea.

The beachfront bungalow was a true epitome of luxury - gorgeous lagoon views from bed, easy walk out onto the white sand beach, shady covered front porch, comfortable king size bed, large luxurious bathroom with an inside/outside shower, great bath toiletries and complimentary beverages, including Moorea's Rotui pineapple juice!

Was very satisfied with the location but the service was not very good. I tried to have dinner after 8pm at the restaurant but was told they were closing soon. I booked 2 rooms and was not allowed to have a late check out (12pm). When coming back here, will consider air B & B.

Excellent food and great staff. In terms of value for money, it’s not even close to other luxury resorts of French Polynesia where we’ve been recently. The room didn’t feel luxury , wind was blowing at night everywhere inside the room. Not having a smart TV is a big issue with American customers . The garden needs some additional lights, walking at night to find our bungalow wasn’t easy. Small things that need to be addressed to deserve the title of best hotel of Moorea

We loved the property. Our underwater bungalow was beautiful but had some quirks - the shower was scalding hot, difficult to adjust the temperature. The bluetooth sound bar did not with with our Google phones and staff wasn't able to help problem solve (they tried! I think this is a new renovation and addition so new technology). Also, we had a hard time getting the mini bar restocked with coffee, it was separate from housekeeping and seemed to not be serviced everyday.

We had an amazing time staying in the overwater bungalows. Having the coral reef right below us to swim was incredible. The staff was all very friendly. Jean Marc in the Pure restaurant was so accommodating and we loved seeing Mimi the cat for every meal too!

Everyone was polite and willing to help. The beach villa was wonderful. Only reason giving a 9 is we didn’t get our connection from the ferry to the airport and the sliding glass doors need rethinking due to storm rain coming in on the floors.

The location is the most beautiful on the island, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Although the towels were changed, they were always stained or had various marks on them. We had two large cockroaches in the room, there was dust, the door handles were grimy, and the lighting was poor… such a shame.
The breakfast, on the other hand, was excellent, while the buffet at the Polynesian evening was not quite up to the same standard.
The common areas have been tastefully renovated.

Major bug issue. Turning on bathroom light in middle of the night revealed half a dozen very large cockroaches crawling over sink, counter, towels, and personal effects. Called front desk the next night (after seeing additional roaches) and they said they would send someone out in 10 mins. No one ever came so slept with bathroom lights on.

We had a lovely time at the Sofitel but found the pool small, quite cold. Also it was very windy hear compared to other areas we said. Also, food was nice but very expensive. Beautiful place, lovely staff, not the most kid or wallet friendly

We stayed in the over water bungalow. There is renovation construction happening to the garden bungalows and the sound of hammering and sawing was uncomfortable. Overall we enjoyed the stay.
