Novotel Brussels Airport 3 stars

Dear Sirs, my first stay in your hotel was most probably my last stay. From 8pm I had no more TV for the whole evening and the breakfast was not good. When comparing your hotel with other hotels nearby in Price and Quality, than I have to rate the Novotel in a very low category. Rgds

I checked in and went to my room, set up my laptop and a cockroach ran across the desk. I went to have dinner and one of the staff in the restaurant was extremely rude, not just to me. I stood in front of him and greeted him and he walked away without saying a word. He then loudly criticized other guests who arrived to join their daughter who was already seated, so they walked to her table. He shouted after them and then asked loudly 'Would you act like that in someone's house??'. Unfriendly and unprofessional. The hotel in general is shabby and in need of a refurbishment.

I truly enjoyed by stay at Novotel. The only issue I had was that the 4am Shuttle to the airport never came and I had to run in around 4:15am into the hotel to have the reception order a taxi.

Rooms: The beds are hard, the pillows uncomfortable, the room is small. The door to the room wouldn't open all the way because they tried to squeeze a closet behind the door, which made it almost impossible to get a cart with luggage inside. The shower door wouldn't stay shut so the entire bathroom flooded. The Hotel: The hotel is up on a hill. The shuttle leaves from the bus stop across the street which is very inconvenient if you have luggage. This hotel is definitely not appropriate for older people with luggage or for a family with young kids, or a single person with luggage. I was stunned when the front desk lady said I should take the cart down the hill, across the parking lot, across the street with all my luggage and then bring the cart back. I asked her if she was serious that I should leave all my belongings, by themselves in the dark at 5 a.m to bring back her cart. She said "yes". Instead I rolled my luggage down the hill (on hotel grounds) then took the cart back up to the front door, and then rolled 2 suitcases and 2 carryons down the parking lot, and across the street to the bus stop. Next time I will be staying at the Sheraton at the airport again even though it was listed at twice the price.

Diana very friendly at the reception. and the cleaning staff also very friendly.
