Room is fine but location awful

The staff were kind and helpful and the room clean and comfortable. But the location only works if you have a car. Surroundings are grim and getting there from central Antwerp was pure hell. The error was made by my travel agent so I do not fault Novotel. Only upside was nearby Hechi restaurant the only eatery within many kilometers which offers a fixed price buffet that is very good if you are very hungry.

The stay was ok. Restaurant has a new menu, that's an improvement. Prices also have improved.....mmm. We were surprised by the house cleaning at 9 o'clock. Too early, Not so nice. And breakfast until 10, even in the weekend. Not so nice. Also with 20 € overrated.

Disappointing ; not at standard Novotel level

Several incidents; I’ll not come back to this NOVOTEL. We had ordered a taxi at the reception for 5.15 pm but was ordered by the receptionist for 5.15 am next morning. As a consequence, we mised part of the spectacle for which we had booked the taxi and we were waked up next morning at 5.15 by the receptionist for nothing. During dinner in the restaurant, a bottle of orange juice felt of the serving plate of the waiter on me. Hotel proposed to wash clothes and offered a free drink, but it does not take away the not pleasant event. Also the hotel is old and needs to be refurbished
