The staff was incredible but unfortunately one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. Only a one night stay to take the family out for Mother’s Day at the Zoo. Soon as we checked in everyone was incredible and the property is stunning. However just Ran jnto issue after issue. Wife asked me to iron her shirt. The iron leaked a black liquid on her shirt and ruined it she couldn’t wear it to dinner and she has had it since our honeymoon where she bought it in South Africa really out a damper on the night. Went to dinner and the food was great so the night was looking up. Got back to the room with our baby and realized there was blood on the pillow case. Old dry blood. Called housekeeping and they brought up fresh pillows. Woke up in the morning to go get breakfast, realized there was blood on the comforter also that we had missed. Called housekeeping to make them aware and they apologized. Went to breakfast. Food was delicious again, unfortunately I had ordered the açaí to share with my wife and son. I ate mine and it tasted great and my son had some also. My wife realized and immediately stopped eating because a few of the blueberries had mold on them. This freaked us out as we’re EXTREMELY cautious of what my 19mo old eats. And we’re worried he injected some. Told the server about it he apologized. When he brought the bill I noticed the bowl was still on there. Shocking since we had shown the server the blueberry . I paid the bill and moved on. At that point we got a call from someone on the staff. He was very kind and apologetic and asked to see the shirt. He even offered to have it cleaned and mailed to us but I insisted that was too much trouble. He also made sure that front desk took breakfast off our tab when he heard about what happened. It was very kind. We left the property feeling like our Mother’s Day had a bit of a damper on it. The property is beautiful and the staff were all incredible but alas that might have been one of the worst one night stays I’ve ever had. Which is strange as it was such a highly recommended property from my friends and colleagues in San Diego.

Our room overall was nice, enjoyed the reflection pond. The mattress needs replacement, we did NOT sleep well at all
