My wife and I are from the USA and visiting India for the first time. We had attended a wedding in Mangalore and wanted to do something unique while we were on that side of the country. I had research the Dasara Festival and noticed that the Grand Mercure was located near the event. That caught our attention and that started me pursuing the hotel and show. While I was trying to reach out to get details, I received a WhatsApp call from Manjari Gumma and later by Srestha Banik from the hotel. From that minute on, everything started falling in place. Our rooms were securely reserved, I had tickets to the Jamboo Savari, and nothing else to do but show up and enjoy. And my wife and I had a fantastic lifelong experience. The rooms were well maintained, the facility immaculate, great variety of foods, and outstanding service. The entire staff was helpful with tours, accessories, and then some. For the elegant experience it was fairly priced.

The hotel is conveniently located, with popular attractions like Mysore Palace and Mysore Zoo just around 5 km away. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making our stay very pleasant. The staff were polite, friendly, and well-behaved throughout our visit. Checkin takes ages as it has large party groups visiting. You will wait without even water being offered. Rooms need better maintenance: my room’s shower holder was partly broken and curtain was dirty and had holes. Worst is they double charged me: although my booking amount already included incidental and I showed it during checkout, they charged me Rs 1500 plus tax extra. Either a scam or incompetence. Please avoid this hotel.

The hotel was good and service was very good as well. The only thing negative was quality of food in the GF restaurant. We had one lunch and one breakfast and bot times the food was bad. We had dinner at roof top restaurant and the food was wonderful and finger licking.

Staying at the Grand Mercure Mysore we were very disappointed with the room and the facilities (the room was particularly bad). The staff were absolutely excellent though. The good: The team were very courteous and accommodating throughout. The baby food they provided was a lovely touch that we really appreciated. The problems: Cleanliness: The carpet in the room had stains, patches and debris in it. The chair was stained and the headrest had a black mark. The glasses at the restaurant were also stained (a hygiene issue). Maintenance: The wallpaper was peeling. The carpet on the floor was folded over which was a genuine tripping hazard. The shower drain didn't clear at all and the water just sat there until it dried. Comfort: the AC didn't work very well. The room was warm despite it being quite pleasant outside and I could hear my neighbour's flush very clearly so the soundproofing is absolutely terrible. A property of this standard should not have the fundamentals so very wrong. The staff don't deserve to be in a room that in effect undermines their work. I hope management look at the housekeeping and maintenance issues.

Front desk staff was extremely courteous. There was one staff member who took extra time to spend with our toddler and made him comfortable. She was engaging with our little one when we were at high tea and gave us some adult time. We appreciate the extra effort. Food was overall good during the breakfast buffet. Service was good too. Room was a bit dated and could use a little more attention to the finer details for cleaning.
