Worst Novotel I've stayed in. Staff are mildly rude if I'm being honest everything is an effort. Room is clean but stupidly designed the sofa bed has no wall against it so is really awkward and kept collapsing. Poor quality pillows. Mold around mirror in bathroom

I had a great stay at the Novotel Basel City. The rooms are clean and have everything you could need, and the hotel has many great amenities. It is in a good location to the city, right in front of a tram stop. I had a great experience at this Novotel location, and will definitely stay here again!

Had issue in the mini bar /kettle rack

My stay was for 2 nights . The minibar /kettle rack had a clicking sound every 5-10 mins in the midnight and I just could not sleep all night. I did mention it next day to the reception and they said the technicians will be sent. I had the issue again the next night and I had to plug off the kettle assuming it was this that caused the issue , but it did not stop until I unplugged the minibar from the socket. The sound then stopped.. I would have expected this solution from the Engineering team than me having to find the problem and resolve it while I was exhausted. However, the receptionists were sweet and helped with the travel adapter when I needed it and also changed my room with a view upon arrival/request. So thank you for that. Had the issue with the socket not occurred, my stay would have been better. Maybe next time!

As a large family it is always complicated to stay in hotels, as we require 2 rooms. Although it is true that the system processes the requests to have 2 rooms, 1 for adults and 1 for children, it requires a lot of energy to find rooms for 6 people (4 children) or rooms for 3 + 3. The default system says that there is no availability for 2+4. I contacted the hotel and they quickly found the perfect rooms for our stay to enjoy Basel as a family. We will come back both as a family and myself for work.
