surprised to have to take a $30 taxi to an airport hotel, dinner was a disgrace

Hello. First, I want to say I am a returning guest to Novotel, and have been to several Accor properties under other names. These stays have been worthy of my loyalty – until now. The first issue we encountered was confusion booking. We expected to stay WITHIN the CDG airport, where we have stayed before. We arrived at the Novotel in the airport and were told that the booking was off the airport premises requiring a $30 taxi ride. Next, being marketed as a CDG airport hotel, we should not be charged another $10 for access by shuttle to the airport. The shuttle driver was rude to us for not speaking French and declined to help us with instructions to get to our terminal as he did for the French speaking guests. Further the shuttle only stopped at one terminal requiring us to drag our bags to the correct one. Next, our experience at the restaurant was the absolute worst we have ever experienced and was an insult to us, and degraded the Novotel brand. I am a former Director of food and beverage at Kimpton Hotels, and I have never seen such a disgrace in my entire career. The “Croque Monsieur with Truffle Butter” was merely two pieces of dry with bread with a slice of processed meat between them. The “Teriyaki Chicken” was the consistency of rubber, and did not taste like food. We would have demanded replacement however we were a captive audience and needed food. I am requesting a full refund for the amount we paid for this “meal” and the shuttle. Sincerely, Laura M.

I understand your misfortune following your reservation, you wanted accommodation within the Airport itself, but following a misinterpretation of the location of the hotel you ended up at the Novotel Suites CDG Airport Villepinte. I am sorry to read that the service did not meet your expectations. Roissy CDG Airport hotels are located close to the terminals or 10 minutes away. Regarding our hotel shuttle, they cost 5 euros per person, unless we are mistaken, our staff must have informed you of this when booking. We only have one drop-off or pick-up point approved by the Airport for our hotel. That said, I completely understand that a drop-off closest to your wishes would have been more accessible. We must treat each customer with courtesy, sympathy and above all be able to best respond to their request according to our possibilities. Ms. M., rest assured that what is necessary will be done and I will contact the manager of the shuttle driver and do everything possible to ensure that this does not happen again. The Novotel Suites offers catering with à la carte or shared menus and we are sorry that this part has greatly disappointed you, I will be sure to forward your comments to the relevant department. - breakfast choice awful - cleaning came in my room for no apparent reason while I was in the bath - Bar staff were the highlight of our trip - I left a personal card in the reader in the room which disappeared upon my return. - rooms were very cold

The area is quite drab but inside the hotel is great with good facilities. The shopping mall in Aeroville is great for supplies and shopping however the walk is quite dangerous with traffic.
