The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was good to be able to come back after a very busy day to be able to buy a small bottle of wine, organic, and very reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and clean, as we have come to expect from the Ibis chain. The hotel is in Zone One and is just 4/5 minutes from Metro Line 2. A word about Parisiens and their poor reputation. Our reception in Paris proved that myth to be completely inaccurate. Without exception, as a long time retired couple, we were offered a seat on the crowded trains every trip. Our suitcases were carried, and every waiter/waitress could not have been more helpful and courteous.

We stayed before and after a trip to Disneyland so that we could explore Paris a little too. The room was lovely, breakfast good and the staff were all very friendly (Martha and the lovely gentleman on desk on the 9th April were particularly great). The hotel was nice and close to a good pizza restaurant and very easy to check in etc.

Out of the door and you're on the Canal St Martin - pedestrian-friendly walk right to the heart of Paris. 15-min walk from Republique, Porte St Martin, etc. Going the other way, a 15-min walk to the lovely Parc des Buttes Chaumont + street flea market on Sunday morning. Very clean, functional hotel. We asked for a room towards the top and got it. Room is basic but has all you need. Comfy bed, black-out curtain. Staff mostly very friendly (apart from the guy on late duty who had trouble cracking a smile...).

We love the Canal St Martin area and the hotel is well positioned for that and also Gare du Nord is walkable between 10-15 minutes. The hotel is quiet and the breakfast is great.
