On arrival I was checked in and offered a room by the lift or further away, gentleman checking me in was very polite and friendly. He gave me a room on the 6th floor away from the lift as requested. Room had a little mini bar in, consisting of 4 drinks - water x 2, orange juice and full fat Coke. The bathroom was equipped with rituals toiletries - these smelt divine! I’ve actually managed to locate a bottle of the same shower gel it was that nice. Bed was comfy, room was nice. Only downfall was the heat, I could not get the heat to lower neither could I open a window. I sweltered through the night. This became apparent it wasn’t only me that suffered as my colleagues did also. Apart from this, it was a nice hotel

It was too hot in the room so i called the front desk to know if they have a problem with the air conditioning but no she just replied to me we are not in summer so the AC is not activated. It was in May…

No Aircon in the Spring

This review was meant for my 2 stay with Novotel CDG Paris in May 2024. I think the establishment need to re-think about the "no aircon" period during the winter/spring months. For the first room i was assigned was stuffy and warm (there were no aircon/circulation fan mode). Hotel staff said its due to winter period and denied my room change initially but subsequently reversed this. For the second room, thankfully the circulation mode was available but that still does not make the room anymore comfortable as both nights had me waking up in the middle of the nights in sweats. The heater mode was available though. Perhaps the "no aircon" in winter should only apply in older hotel/building where the infrastructure is legacy with thin walls. Having the aircon in this instance will make the hotel room much more habitable. If energy saving was the moot point, then leaving the heater option available will make no sense. Perhaps Novotel CDG Paris could rethink this and provide guests with a much better hotel experience.
