The hotels location was great but I’m afraid that is the only plus for us! For a 4 star hotel and the price we paid we expected a much better standard of accommodation. Very out dated, not very clean and in desperate need of new carpets throughout the hotel as very threadbare. Such a shame as it has great potential.

Once you get outside the big cities, hotel quality can be a bit hit and miss but you need have no worries about fhe Mercure White Hart. A modest hotel in a grand old building, well located in the centre of Salisbury. Excellent team of staff on site. Good quality dinner and breakfast. My Platinum status was recognised with an upgrade to one of the refurbished Privilege rooms, free drink in the bar plus a complimentary 5pm checkout. As noted by the hotel on its page, the stairs may not be suitable for all but that aside I would say this is an excellent little hotel and a great option if you are looking for accommodation in Salisbury.

Our only comment would be that when hotel guests book a meal, it seems a long time to receive it when you have meals in other rooms.

Stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. We received the warmest welcome from the loveliest reception staff. They were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was 225 and it was just superb. Everything was spotlessly clean, bright and cheerfully decorated. Our bed was super-king sized and exceptionally comfortable, in fact we agreed it was the comfiest hotel bed we’ve had. The linen was fresh and white as were the soft towels in the lovely modern and clean bathroom, which also had luxury toiletries. Every thought was given to anything you could possibly need, even a sewing kit was provided! Our room included a Nespresso coffee machine and soft drinks in the mini fridge which were most welcome. Overall the room was spacious and extremely comfortable and we slept really well. Our breakfast the following morning was well prepared and presented, served hot and with plenty of choice from cooked food to fresh crusty bread and croissants, yogurt, cereals and fruit. Exceptional value and served in a spacious and clean dining room. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re in the area. Salisbury is a lovely place and we were made very welcome by the staff at the Mercure. Thank you for a lovely stay. We highly recommend.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location for visiting the main Salisbury attractions. Rooms were larger than average & the bar was well stocked & reasonably priced Even better if... My bathroom could have done with an upgrade or at least a deep clean. Some of the carpets are a bit stained & ropey & I could smell both smoke & vapes in the hotel. Went well Staff were helpful & well-informed, view was good & dogs are welcome.
