A very tired hotel, definitely in need of a facelift. Staff do their best and are friendly. A$15 for a mediocre continental breakfast, no other meals available on site, although there is a very busy, but noisy restaurant almost next door. Would not stay there in the future

Enjoyable Quiet Stay

The location of the Grosvenor hotel is excellent and perfect for me to attend a two day conference at the Adelaide Convention Centre (almost directly across the road). Hotel is in walking distance to the mall and food/restaurant outlets. Tram easily accessible to get around the City, Glenelg or Entertainment Centre. Hotel room was quiet and clean, shower pressure great, eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided, access to wifi and television. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Check-in and Check-out was great with friendly staff and they were able to store my luggage on the last day of my conference. There was no window that you could open and no view but this was known at time of purchasing the room and after being out all day it was not an issue.

Cold and damp

I would describe my time at the Grosvenor as a learning experience and something I don’t want to repeat. If it was not for the front staff who are lovely and helpful. I would have left sooner. Based on recent reviews online this is the only thing this place has going for it. I was staying 7 nights and my first night was in a small dark cold damp room which needed a light on to see anything, the staff at the front desk when asked gave me 2 blankets and even offered me a heater, this made the place bearable. In the morning the shower door did not fit the shower so the floor in the bathroom flooded a slip hazard to say the least, this out weighted the constantly running toilet which meant having to keep the bathroom door closed all night. I seemed to have been given one of the worst rooms in the place even though I was staying for so long. When I spoke to them the next day I was upgraded to a bigger room which was a lot better however it was still very damp and cold and the door did lock properly. After speaking to friends about my situation they offered me their couch in their house which I took them up on as I felt safer, warmer and did not want to ruin my holiday by becoming unwell by staying in such a damp cold room.

Friendly and helpful staff, but amenities getting old, no air conditioner controls in room, fridge froze my drinks in 1 night, no visible fridge controls, shower screen door not closing correctly, so water running onto bathroom floor.
