I’m an Accor platinum member yet this hotel didn’t recognise this at all. It seemed to be that they’d never heard of it when asked for a free drink. Nothing in the room at all not even a bottle of water.

Dear Andrew. Thank you for your feedback although we're sorry your stay with us wasn't the VIP experience you expected. As a Platinum member you're probably aware that booking into a Ibis you will not get the same services as in a 4* or 5* (for example the water bottle is replaced by a water fountain). Your comment does come as a surprise though because we upgraded you into one of our superior rooms (you booked a standard non renovated room) and the free drink voucher was attached to your key card. For a future stay feel free to reach out to let us know what more you would expect because we did everything we could to honor your Platinum status. Sorry if it wasn't perceived that way. I’ve stayed in the Ibis Caen many times but not since it has been refurbished. It is comfortable, perfectly situated and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just right.
