We just got back from a great weekend at Novotel Darling Harbour. Our whole experience was fantastic from the moment we drove in and were greeted by the kind concierge who showed us the best place to park tothe amazingly friendly service by Marcella on checkin who was so kind to our little girls ( she even bought a huge chocolate and colouring packs to the room for them and a bottle of wine for us) to the spacious and comfortable rooms ( harbour view with great view of the fireworks on Saturday night) to the restaurant for dinner ( my Husband said one of the best steaks he has ever had) and then to top it off with James on checkout who was so friendly to deal with. We can't wait to visit Novotel Darling Harbour again soon.

Stay didn't start off well - check in was extremely busy, even with all check in desks fully staffed it took over 20 mins to be served. Each person just seemed to take a long time to be processed, not sure if there are any inefficiencies in the process but just seemed unusually long compared to other hotels. Tried our luck for an early check in after lunch time, but hotel must have been extremely busy so didn't get one. Came back after 3pm (lined up again for 20+ mins), room was still unavailable. Was given free drink while waiting at the bar, eventually allowed access to our room around 4pm. The room was tidy, but everything is very old and dated. The beds were extremely comfortable, had a wonderful night sleep! Nice views of Darling Harbour, well positioned to watch the Saturday night fireworks from the comfort of the room. The breakfast was excellent! Great selections and well presented, definitely recommend it! Currently there is construction works between the hotel and Darling Harbour (hotel is very up front about this on the website). The Novatel will be very well positioned when this is completed in a few years, but until then it may be worth considering other options for a similar priced stay.

Celebrating our 62nd Wedding Anniversary was made special right from check in with your delightful Anna being most welcoming with her attitude and manner. The staff at the Ternary also went out of their way to make our dining experience one we will remember.
