We stay at Novotel Edinburgh Park often and we were expecting a similar experience in York. The room was a reasonable size but the loo was tiny and separate from the shower room and sink. There were visible cobwebs on the ceiling and anything that could be removed was screwed in place - even the tissue box in the bathroom! We left the "do not disturb/cleaning not required" card on our door when we went out for the day but this was ignored and our room made-up while we were out.

Fantastic stay for my parents from start to finish, reception team super friendly, Emma, Cristina and Selasi were fab with my little boy, the guys on the bar were great and in particular thanks to Ewa and Joe for singing happy birthday to my dad. The room was large and extremely clean and very comfortable, breakfast was well presented, hot and very tasty. The hotel is in a great location and has a large onsite car park and is very reasonably priced. Thank you to the Manager your team are a credit to you!
