Tatty, need a lot of work doing. Restaurant closed - not informed when booking, bar meals!! Asked to upgrade room, was told hotel was full. 100% not full, hardly seen another guest during our 2 day stay.

We have stayed in many Mercure hotels in France and have never received the same level of customer service. Everyone had a smile and a good morning. While many hotels accept dogs you welcome him with a bowl and treats.

I have stayed here many times as we have a factory near by. I arrived at 23:50 and we experienced a full evacuation at 3:30 in the morning held outside for approx. 20mins when I returned to room after standing out in the rain I could not get back to sleep. I appreciate if the alarm goes everyone needs to be made safe. No compensation offered.

From the initial interaction with the receptionist to final checkout all aspects of my stay was poor. The receptionist could not find our booking. They were extremely unhelpful and could not do any less to help us out. They were disengaged, not bothered and provided a service that was not up to the standards of a one star hotel. The room was dated and had unknown water like stains on the wall and desperate need of investment. We had booked two meal deals. We sat at the same table but due to some obscure internal procedure regarding meal deals, our meals could not be served at the same time. We sat together but ate separately. Unbelievable. At 0330 the fire alarm went off for whatever reason. We had to evacuate. Completely disrupted and ruined our sleep. We booked the hotel as it was the venue for our training course. Next time a training course is held at the Mercure we are going to book into the Premier inn next to the stadium and travel the one mile for the course. Improvements must be made!
