We had a wonderful stay, with incredibly friendly and welcoming staff throughout our visit. The lobby looks beautiful following the recent renovation and creates a great first impression. The rooms, however, are quite basic in comparison to the lovely new lobby. One of the highlights was the welcome gift of two cute muffins, accompanied by a handwritten note welcoming us — such a thoughtful and personal touch. The only small disappointment was that the complimentary filtered water provided in a glass bottle wasn’t refilled when the room was serviced. We had to go to the bar ourselves to refill it. I think it would be a nice improvement if the water bottle was automatically refilled after each room service. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the warm hospitality from the staff.

Wasn’t quite what we expected but was clean and fairly comfortable. More expensive than other similar style hotels , paying for the name I guess. Room was ok, bathroom was upgraded and nice but could still see parts of the original old motel in the room and entrance. The area was quiet at night. A few minutes drive to shops. The on site restaurant was nice for dinner, breakfast was ok. Not much choice but sufficient.

Stayed 2 nights. Seamless check-in and check-out. Restaurant was great, both the quality of the food and the service. Rooms had very thin walls, so there were both voices from next door and lots of street noise coming through all night. Hard to get a peaceful sleep. Room was clean enough and comfortable. Bathroom was clean also.

We were told upon arrival that we had received an “upgrade” to a larger room which had recently been refurbed due to us being “gold members”. However the immediate impression was disappointing - the front door was heavily marked and very old, the bathroom door was not new and the door latch was poor fitted. The bed was comfortable and the main room spotlessly clean. Our greatest disappointment was with breakfast which was included - a selection of some (4) scrappy bits of smoked salmon, slices of packaged ham and cheese. Bread for toast (plain and fruit bread) a couple of cereal choices and luke warm coffee. A few Danish tarts and not much else. There was no hot breakfast at all. About a $5 breakfast for $25. We really expected a higher quality from Mantra.

I found it very easy to book, late notice room was available however hotel did not accommodate gold member benefits and it other guests were very noisy, was difficult to sleep as you could hear everything through walls and from upstairs.

The room was supposedly renovated but even that seemed very dated. The was quite noisy too due to the traffic on the road. The restaurant and bar were exceptional. The service, drinks and food definitely stood out.

The room was nice and clean, however, the window next to the door felt uncomfortable, seeming to give no privacy and discomfort of easily breaking in. As the hotel had no secure boundary and was next to main road, I felt worried of being unsafe. The noise from the road was consistent. Hotel upgraded our room, which was nice. I trust accor group and that was the reason to book mantra over other stays at mount gambier.

We had a terrible night and terrible customer service in the morning Late party going till 1:30-2am this morning- people playing very loud music, running all over the top level and yelling, our phone was unplugged once plugged in did not call out, no instructions on how to contact reception (or a welcome book) When we were able to find the number on the website for the night manager it took 5 calls until they answered. He did come quite quickly but after did not stay around and wait till people had left and also did not contact us after he came out. Walls were paper thin and could hear everything. When we asked for a later checkout in the morning morning there was no compensation (breakfast of coffee) offered and the front desk manager was rude, not polite or helpful and not wanting to give a late checkout- till 11am as we were shattered from the night before. Very disappointing and makes us hesitant to stay at any other manta hotels and never again at the mantra Mount gambier
