Terrible experience with Accor Group

Reached hotel only to be informed that my account has been suspended and that all benefits have been suspended and my room rate has gone up by almost double. The hotel tried to contact the Accor Corporate but nobody picks up. I read the Internet and it seems that the reason for suspension is if you have suspicious login due to the use of VPN. Your processes simply do not make any sense: 1. I am CISO of a financial institution and I can tell you that the use of VPN while traveling and connecting to free Wifi is a very crucial practice of protecting oneself. Under the "intent" of protecting the customer, you are telling us not to protect ourselves. That is not making any sense. 2. To re-enable the account, I need to be verified by correspondence via email. But I am standing there in person with my identification at the hotel lobby. What better way is there to verify the person? And if the intent is to force the user to change the password, the best way is to train the hotel staff to guide the customer to change the password before enabling the account at the spot. 3. Even your FAQ says that while the account is suspended, "you can still book a stay using your Members rate and enjoy your dining discount", so the fact that the hotel told me that all benefits are suspended and the room rate has gone back to standard rate shows very poor training on the part of Accor. Again, the member is standing in person with the passport in hand, what better way to identify the member? And if the whole purpose of membership is to take care of Members better, why do you have such a process that greatly disconvenience your Members? This whole entire "suspension" process needs to be reviewed, and whoever in Security team that comes out with this will need to be educated on Security.

Hôtel supposely 5 starts without a gym. Room was a 3 star on accor standard. We arrive at 9.10 pm and no food or room service so we did not have dinner that night. Renovations in the garden close to the pool that were not disclosed in advance! Basically nothing to do. A lot of dead spaces not occupied or empty. A very bad experience Staff and food amazing
