Not what I expected from 5 star hotel.

I booked a room with a double bed. I recieved a room with two single beds pushed together. The beding was for a double bed in order to mask or hide the two single beds pushed together underneath. This was only evident when myself and my partner went to go to bed that night and felt the drop in the middle of the bed, due to the two mattresses. This meant it was too late to change rooms or contact reception. We checked and this was the case, two single beds pushed together. This made sleeping very uncomfortable and ruined what would have been a lovely stay. Especially given that it was a present for my partner for a special birthday. Also given the cost of the room. When I discussed it with the receptionist as we checked out, I was told that she would check as shouldn't be able to tell. I explained that if we booked a double bed, we should have recieved a double bed as we didn't get what we had booked/paid for. The spa and breakfast was lovely. The staff were very welcoming and service in the spa and breakfast was great. Just a shame about the room. I am shocked that this happened given the rating of hotel and cost of booking a room. I would like someone to contact me to discuss this further. I am happy for this to published on all platforms.

There was so much confusion about my booking that it became slightly irritating. I had to re explain the situation to at least 4 different people.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Municipal Hotel in Liverpool! The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of Liverpool with easy access to all the major attractions and transportation hubs. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff who made check-in a breeze. They were knowledgeable about the area and offered great recommendations for places to visit and dine. The room itself was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had a restful night's sleep throughout my stay. The amenities provided were top-notch, and I appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of the room. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. They were always available to assist with any queries and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast served at the hotel was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from, catering to different tastes and dietary requirements. The dining area, bar and the main atrium was lovely and had a welcoming ambiance. Overall, I cannot recommend the Municipal Hotel enough. It's a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Liverpool, whether for business or leisure. The combination of excellent service, prime location, and superb amenities makes it stand out as one of the best hotels in the city. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to Liverpool!

Lovely decor, great breakfast, great bedroom. Corridors are very hard to navigate. Impossible to find the lifts from your room. Too warm downstairs.
