We were celebrating our 20th Wedding anniversary with dinner and a show. I had been to the hotel a few weeks before and decided to book so that we could stay over in Liverpool. The hotel used to be the old council offices - a lovely Victorian 2nd Empire style building. The renovation is very sympathetic to the original building with a beautiful palm court as its centrepiece. The bedroom had a great view of Dale Street. It was tastefully decorated and the bed and pillows were very comfy and luxurious.

SATISFACTORY, GOOD ROOM, BUT STAFF LACK DETAILED ATTENTION, EG EMPTY BODY LOTION ON ARRIVAL, BROKEN SHOWER TAP ROOM 230, CORRIDOR RADIATORS HAVE LITTER UNDERNEATH THEM, BISCUITS ONE DAY & NOT THE OTHER.

Hi The stay was great except that I contacted the hotel in adance and request a room on one of the higher floors. They neither acknowledged my request by return email nor on my arrival. Disappointing. Another issue is that this is the second time I've stayed at the hotel: the staff are always friendly and the rooms are neat and clean. However, I am perplexed by your charge to hotel guests for the use of the spa facilities. I have travelled extensively and only find this practice at the Titanic and at the Municipal, both in Liverpool. I can understand specific booking slots to cater for crowds, but it seems opportunistic to charge paying guests for the use of these facilities!
