My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Bendigo - staying one night for the Good Charlotte concert at the racecourse. Located about an 8 minute drive from the racecourse, the Mercure was a great choice as it was located in a quiet part of town away from the concert traffic. The Mercure is private and has well positioned complimentary parking. Check-in was simple and our room was very clean. The room was small but well appointed and cosy, with all amenities we would need along with complimentary water on arrival which was great given the hot weather. We appreciate that the cooling was on in the room before we arrived. The balcony was small but sheltered and quiet. We loved the complimentary welcome drink, and the lobby and restaurant space was tidy, cosy and quiet. The staff provide exceptional service, even compared to other Accor group hotels, we would definitely stay here again.

Very expensive for such a small room. It’s the little things that made the stay frustrating—no power outlet in the bathroom, and the room was so compact it was difficult to squeeze in beside the bed to do my hair. Bendigo was busy with a concert that weekend, so dynamic pricing kicked in. The price increased by $80 within minutes. Ironically, when I went to book through the app, it prompted me to complete a survey. By the time I finished it and returned to the booking page, the price had already gone up. The only reason I went ahead with the booking was because I had points to use. We needed accommodation urgently due to a family member being in hospital, so we had little choice.

The rooms are compact, yet have everything that's needed. The art vibe throughout the hotel makes the experience better than competitors. Central Bendigo location is handy for Ulumbarra Theatre and Bendigo Art Gallery events.

The room was very small but otherwise good with a great shower but the television didn’t work properly. Sufficient and well located PowerPoints and an opening door for fresh air. I didn’t like having to drag my luggage through such a public area to get it to my room.

However, I regret to learn about the issues with the television and the inconvenience caused by the luggage arrangements. Unfortunately, our broaqdcasting station for our TV's are located in Mount Alexander who were heavily affected by bush fires last month, leaving a lot of regional Victoria without a lot of tv channels.
